Rob
#81
Character: Puddle
Event: Duelist's Prelude 2: Card game boogaloo

Responsiveness:
10/10 I wasn't waiting very long at all. Rob was on the rulings like the white on rice!

Balance:
I have to go with a 2/10 for this one, I saw more Forbidden Tomes, and Gemstone Bountys than I ever have in one day. Most of them were me, but still!

Storytelling:
10/10 this was a story about the Slime of Games finally rising to the occasion, and proving her worth. Very enjoyable. I can't wait to see what kind of shenanigans Max Unicorn pulls out next time.

Fairness:
Everyone abided by the same rules, so it was definitely fair.

Overall:

9/10 event, the banlist will be the highlight of my week.

Character: Acero

Event: Duelist's Prelude 2: Card game boogaloo

Responsiveness: 10/10 Max Unicorn/Rob was really helpful and fast providing help with the rules despite having to deal with six duelists and three simultaneous matches, great job.

Balance: No rate on this one since the balance didn't depend on the DM but the arcana cards itself.

Storytelling: 8/10 it was a great tournament with great spectators, the ambient was chill and relaxed despite the intensity of the duelists. I loved the yugioh references and the fact that we were dueling on the ferry, I can't wait for the third format of this event.

Fairness: Its a closed format with rules written prior to it 10/10 fairness.

Overall: 9/10 it was a great event, everyone was happy and had a ton of fun.

Character: Oliphr Ishiko
Which Event: Mini-event - The Line between Faith and Falling

Responsiveness (Were their narrations posted within a reasonable time-frame and were they quick to respond?): Very quick- a lot quicker than I could hope for.
Balance (How entertaining were the battles, and any obstacles/traps?): N/A
Storytelling (Did it feel like an adventure, did the content of the narrations meet your expectations?): It was short, as it was a mini-event, but for a faith-related event hinging on personal sorrow, the ties one makes with others and how even care and concern for others can be a detriment to oneself- such like the man whose life is dedicated to helping and being concerned for others- it was a wonderful event that played to the key points of the crisis in question.
Fairness (Were the punishments justified and earned, was the risk to reward ratio good?): N/A, but I will say, the personal development that led to his outcome in faith was a great reward.

Overall: 10/10 would go to Rob for more mini-events and even full events

Character: Melionette Meandersong
Which Event: Quest for Penance

Responsiveness: 10/10, extremely quick, but also considerate of character interactions -- it didn't feel 'cookie cutter', but rather tailored to our individualised responses.

Balance: 10/10, involved puzzling sections which all of us had to stare at Sunsets at because we were all little babies but they were genuinely intriguing. Yes, there were no fights, but I am going to consider the mirror section a fight against the self.

Storytelling: The answer to the rumoured wine maker was genuinely hilarious and the build-up was grand. It was considerate to the lore of my character and the attendees, tying in aspects of Delphina meaningfully, one such interaction genuinely feeling narratively impactful.. something about the end of a race. Something about spiders. The characterisation was brilliant and Rob did outstandingly well at making characters feel believeable, I especially enjoyed the spider, but Doralanor (without he ') is a fond second place.

Fairness: Extremely fair! I got an apple. And information about wine. That's what we came for.

Overall: S

Any other comments: Mildly nerfed because it started late due to no fault but my own because I tried to bring half a country with me (DO NOT DO THIS TO ROB.)

Character: Sunsets over Moonlight
Which Event: Quest for Penance

I had no idea what to expect from a Rob event. I've heard good things, but didn't know how he'd handle such a loose, strange concept from Dandeli, but it was especially pleasant. I joined late and somehow was the most accounted for despite being the only American that didn't pass out and everyone else was British. 7p EST start time. I do appreciate it immensely. Now for my thoughts:

Responsiveness: Very quick. We went well into the bird chirps in the Queen's Land, but he kept such a nice pace throughout. He was attentive to bits and bobs we included in our own roleplays, weaving the story as it went.

Balance: Puzzle and interaction based opposed to combat. I personally dislike the three-boss-beat-em-up strat for far heavier, dangerous events, and just in general. SoM was turned to a lot for the puzzles which made sense on an IC level. I enjoyed them quite a bit, though! Very thematic for Delphinan characters in a Delphinan forest.

Storytelling: This could have gone a billion ways and the ways it went in felt grounded in the overall essence of Delphina. Nothing felt particularly out of place and deeper bits of history expanded on. A forest made a little richer, a Faeborne a little different than the rest, an unlikely forest dweller who defied expectation. My favorite part, given that the entire event revolved around story opposed to more action orientated bits. Again, a favored aspect of events that sometimes yield in favor of orientating some action... I liked it!

Fairness: Apple acquired.

Character: Sunsets over Moonlight
Which Event: A Fae's Final Flight to Elfame

This is my second Rob event following a less high stakes journey for an apple. My impressions thus far led me to assume attention to detail, considered story and dedication from beginning to end. I believe the event lasted ten or twelve hours without a single boss fight or special 'unique' tagged item dropped as reward.

Responsiveness: Timely. He had myself, Bologna and Dandeli there. Godspeed.

Balance: There weren't hostile encounters safe for an unexpected trinket from unlikely individuals. I have a strong preference towards this now as a result of my two Rob events.

Storytelling: Not a single one of us had a clue what Elfame was. In ways, that's cool for a DM and other times, pretty dreadful to come up with lore that might possibly satisfy a two year old and over one year old character. It has been shrouded in mystery for a very long time and its reveal was extremely satisfying, sweet and tragic. As a player who's dedicated well over a year to Nemea, I felt good about it and relieved by the care placed into the story crafted. I had no doubt once we switched from Chance (he surely would've killed us all x) to Rob even if my only personal experience was a more lighthearted event. I am thankful he took such care in its approach, execution and aftermath. This will, of course, follow my character very closely until their conclusion.

Fairness: Elfame discovered.

Character: Camino de Caewynn

Which Event: A Fae's Final Flight To Elfame

Responsiveness: Everything I put out felt acknowledged. For 12 hours, nothing felt "slow" (this is because i am the slow one).

Balance: Nothing charisma could not solve.

Storytelling: For something we had little to go off of, and little want to spoil a sense of revelation over something quite important to IC histories and faith by dictating it ourselves, I don't think I could have been left any happier than I am with the way Rob fulfilled the premise and delivered it to the characters who have been waiting quite some time for it. As the person who has spent more time writing about Nemea and the Faeborne than anyone, the nature of Elfame was both written in a way that I would not have expected it to be, yet not at all dissonant with the wider picture we've pieced together over the many IC years leading up to this point. The presentation was thoughtful in just the way I'd have hoped it to be. as someone who considers ideal religious RP to lie in being given something to think about in regards to the truth of something beyond the scale of full comprehension by the characters involved.

We were told a story, and left to wonder for ourselves how it fits in to our characters.

Fairness: We got what we came for. Elfame is real.

Additional Notes:

Thank you, Rob.  Not only am I glad that this finally got ran, but as already said I feel like you made it exactly what it should have been.

I also loved the fact the sole item we were given became more of an antagonistic force than anything else encountered.

Character: Koretheia

Which Event: The Un-Vale-Ing

Responsiveness: 10/10!! Even if we took a bit the narrations and guidance were immediate, and the attempts we made to explore were always acknowledged!

Balance: 10/10, our enemies were ourselves most of the time. (sorry that you are purple now aricles) making the party fight eachother was also fun, and the final boss threw everyone off but in a way that was understandable

Storytelling: i always believe rob to be an excellent storyteller, and i think so even more now after this. for me, who is trying to learn as much as i can of what came before on an OOC and IC scale, the situation in the vale and what happened to [redacted], i was very happy to experience it as someone who has never ever experienced that portion of the story in eternias history. it gave something for me to work off of, whilst also giving those who came with me a little something for their own story or journey.

in general i was just happy overall, because rob made a point to give us development through all of our mistakes, and he left us with more pieces of a puzzle to fill in time.

Fairness: everything was about what i expected. the cliffs were a paid actor but i think it kind of added on to it (she made us run into the wall with her illusions), and i honestly am excited to be on any further rob event in the future. the difficulty was as it should be but it made sure to not let us feel like it was impossible. i think at any point we really could have died there and we managed to hold on...!

additional notes:

you can expect me Soon.
sory i jsut woke up i cant get my thoughts in proper order heres all u need to really know:

me really like rob event me like it a lot

Character: Calyx Aubreen

Which Event: The Un-Vale-Ing

Responsiveness: 10/10 The narrator did not leave us alone for one second, if we had a question or anything? Instant replies, a very attentive DM!

Balance: 9.9/10 FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU!! WHO PUTS POISON AND CONFUSE ON PEOPLE YOU'RE SADISTIC!!!

Storytelling: Rob is a fantastic storyteller and though I had no real knowledge about the lore of the event, or the characters involved, he did his utmost to really deliver a compelling narrative. Sometimes DMs can be a little mean if you don't know the lore, but when my questions were asked icly they were answered to very organically. They made the BBEG human in a way that not many can when they have the power of a God at their fingertips, I appreciated so much how whispers were happening between the party to try and sow descent! Love this man and all he does for the community.

Fairness: I think it was pretty fucked up that you would purposefully turn around mid fight, stare at me and type out 'you're mine buddy' and then rip my spleen from my still warm corpse. On a serious note though, this is likely the closest thing to an actual COD I've seen, most events I go on tease you with a chance to die... but this event? Rob didn't hold any punches, my life was in his hands and he twisted me like a wet otter.

Additional notes:

If you ever put me through that torment again and don't use the alternative playby you're dead to me

Character: Ren Kurosawa

Which Event: The Un-Vale-Ing

Responsiveness: 10/10 He's probably giggling his ass off whenever we keep setting off traps. Very responsive and straight to the point for our understanding.

Balance: 9.9/10 HEEEEEELP!!!!!!! HELP ME!!!!! H-HELP ME!!!!!

Storytelling: The storytelling was great, it was nice to see how characters react to a situation here and there. Dropping into it, it was trap after trap and scenario after scenario which makes you begin to wonder what type of character we will likely run into and their forte. The character itself possesses some grand level trickery and knowing how to mess with everyone's head even if they don't want to admit it out loud. While I don't have real knowledge of the event neither, I was still engaged to learn more. Koretheia actually got some hands wtf...

Fairness: No punches were pulled, I was playing bullet hell that whole last fight. Everyone was catching the illusionary magic special and I got bombed a couple of times. It was suffice to say, this is more what I'll expect a COD will be like and be more prepared in the future.

Additional notes:

They took me out...
