~its a potion suggestions thread~

because i am currently playing an alchemist, the second most important thing to me in this game (first being aesthetic) is being able to do cool alchemy things 

here are some 4am graveyard work shift on my friday thoughts for what some Cool Potions would be

Frog's Leg:
TIER 2 | SIMILAR TO: CRIMSON REED BOWL
3x FROG*, 3x CYLION, 3 WATER CRYSTAL
  • For 24** hours, reduces the cost of /Jump by half.
WHY?: Jumping is expensive. I have a lot of Cylion. I want frogs.


*requires frogs to be added. like fireflies, but frogs. [Image: 56546.png]

Lady Luck:
TIER 1 | SIMILAR TO: IDK BRO
7x FOUR-LEAF CLOVER, 7x ORICHALCUM, 7x AMBER
  • Procs out of combat /rolls twice, allowing the user to use the higher of the two
WHY?: There is no use for four-leaf clovers. Orichalcum is known as Fools Gold sometimes. Amber is also stupid. 777. this may be op but is also mega sunk cost

Miner's Aid:
TIER 5 | SIMILAR 2: it's lumberjacks aid
3x FIREFLY, 1x SUGARCAP MUSHROOM, 1x POPPYLUS, 3x IRON
  • "For an hour, any mining you hit will give  twice the metals per hit for twice the energy."

WHY?: we have honestly reached an economy point where ore does not matter unless it is arcanium so i think this could just be like a QoL thing

OTHER SUGGESTIONS BECAUSE I FORGOT THE OTHER ONES THAT I HAD IN MIND:
  • remove soothe reed from sleeping potion, its too rare and too important to use for something like this. FIX SUGGESTION: add mint, use alessa's sprite and recolour it slightly. add the seeds to the farm vendor
  • move mandarakes speech to tier 3, tier 3 does not have many potions in it and the only ones that are like at all possible to grind out for exp for baby alchemists are >gender potions

frog's legs: ok

lady luck: getting a second chance to roll generally means you're always going to roll higher. this is, honestly, probably a better way of handling the luck potion that's already in the code(gives a +1 to end of combat rolls) and i'd prefer this over "hehe i am physically unable to be capped in a cap 1, fool"

miner's aid: "the economy is fucked so lets fuck it more" is not a great concept. make it cause mining to go faster or take less energy, sure, but just giving free resources, even if they're minuscule in the grand scheme of things, helps nothing in an already overbloated market

other suggestions: soothe reed being removed from sleepy time potion is ok. mandrakes to tier 3 is okay as well. jester juice just needs an actual effect but otherwise yeah it's useless.

mouse suggestion: poisons that can be applied to weapons that have alternative effects instead of just 'does a nonexistant amount of bonus damage'. let me poison my sword with a lust potion. or a rage potion or something. honestly applying most potions to weapons to apply to the first attack made with said weapon could be hilarious

Its Free Resources allows those without a crafting profession to gain more things to sell than usual, while still supporting The Rich by buying their goods this fixes the crafting-exclusive economy actually

I like these ideas. The mining one should make it where it takes less energy to mine, not give free resources.

I like the idea of adding various poisons to alchemy that you can apply to weapons. Like maybe for example, a poison that lowers DR by 1-2%, lowers AP by 1-2%, etc.

if the Mining Potion like, caused you to grab ore from a vein every hit instead of every 3 hits, that's fine and probably saves quite a bit of energy over the course of the average mining trip
i miss mouse so much

I approve this. Otherwise the prices for Nyshek and Mythril weapons and armor may go down critically.


Also, move Tiller's Joy to separate potion slot. I want to smoke reed and apply fertilizers.

Alternative fertilizer: 1 earth crystal, 1 water crystal, 1 acorn, 1 sugarcap : T3 potion. When character stands in same place with growing crop and applies the potion the plant immediately comes to a full bloom.

Another suggestion: Let's make temporary +VIT and +MDEF potions for combat.

"A pipe full of soothe reed, halves the effect of any temporary injuries taken for 24 hours."

Lax Essence
Ingredients: Venom (x1), Cylion (x2)
Energy: 100
"Found on any competent surgeon's shelf; a powerful pain reliever. Effects of temporary injuries are reduced by 50% for 24 hours."
Boost: None

why?


It's badly explained. To sum it up in a much easier way.


Lax Essence: Halves the reduced Vit of a temporary wound for the duration of 24 hours, this means a 5 day temp for 24 hours is 50% less painful. But only after the temporary injury has occurred. (EX: A -10 temp nerf for 1 week, becomes a -5 Temp Nerf for 1 day of that week.)

Soothe Reed Bowl: Halves the reduced Vit of a temporary wound. However, it requires that you've been temporarily wounded during the duration of the Soothe Reed Bowl, which is 24 hours. So, for 24 hours, if you get temporarily wounded, you'll only receive a temporary wound that is 50% of the normal wound for its entire duration (Ex: A -10 vitality temp nerf for 1 week, becomes a -5 vit temp nerf for 1 week).

One is a preemptive measure.

The other is a temporary fix.

I hope that helps.

Edit: This is from my experience with soothe reed during an event where I was temporarily injured.

Change effect of Soothing Reed bowl, so it works like Lax Essence, but with permanent wounds. This means a permanent wound for 24 hours is 50% less painful. But only after the injury has occurred. (EX: A -10 perm nerf becomes a -5 Permanent Nerf for 1 day)

Let the risky knights be dependent on reed
