Jumpy's Jungle Jym: Episode II — Attack of the Hiddens
#11
Key/Character: XKt/Marie ras Petrakis
Which Event: The Swords in the Stone - The Vault of Osrona.

Responsiveness: For seven players, it went about as quick as it could have - was very impressed at the speed of the DM.

Balance: This was actually the most fun part for me - the story and vault implemented a fun weight mechanic, so the bosses were primarily scaled around that (until the second half of the final phase), and the first fight was by far some of the most fun I've had on an event. It was super cool, and I had a really great time.

Storytelling: This was also where the DM excelled - one of the first real heavy posts of the Dungeon was putting the characters into a place where they were separated from the others and got to see an alternate view of their potential lives. I can't speak on how well written this was for the other characters, but from my own perspective, the DM managed to write something really cool for what he knew about my character. A lot of fun on the story in this dungeon.

Fairness: The fights were fair, and punishments are fine - but the loot table was the most disappointing for me, at least primarily /just/ on my side (as the rewards for other characters was very cool). It was an event that I had went out of my way for some time to set up with Ilio, and I had him do the post - so going in, I was /very/ excited for anything: Dev, Fluff Items, or the Sword we intended to get for Marie ahead of time. It wasn't mentioned to me that it would have to be a two-part event beforehand and having run on no sleep to make the event (24 hours awake by the time it ended), I was admittedly a bit disappointed walking away empty-handed on a High CoD event that I set up with Ilio. That being said, one of the rewards gotten for another character was super cool, and I'm incredibly excited to see where that goes ahead of time, and it's understandable that it'd be a two-part event given what we were going for, all things considered.

Overall: 10/10.

Any other comments: I want to stress that it was by far the best event I've been on - it was a lot of fun, and while I was disappointed with the ending, Jumpy is a fantastic DM. It was very well written, had a lot of fun plot threads, the bosses were extremely fun, and overall I can't say that I've /ever/ had a more fun event. I'm very excited to see Part 2 (following a story thread from the Vault), and whatever cool mechanics or story comes with that, and see where Jumpy takes it!

Which Event: So you Wanna be a Knight, Huh?

Responsiveness: Incredibly responsive, with varying length of narrates to suit the current situation.

Balance: It felt strong, and I'm sure if we had our 4th member we would have been fine, but even so being one person down didn't completely hamper our ability to win. We just all got 2 temps, which is fine.

Storytelling: The story telling was cool; and I'm interested in perhaps going back and exploring further later on once we're stronger.

Fairness: It seemed fair - and we got what we wanted, ultimately. The amount of money we were given for what we went through seemed fair too + dev items!

Overall: 10/10 event was fun

Any other comments: Thank you yeehaw

Which Event: So you Wanna be a Knight, Huh?

Responsiveness: Pretty quick, I didn't feel like I had to wait too long for any narrates.

Balance: Jesus christ I've never wanted to use meteor more. All the ECs were pretty balanced and I think they both went to 3 rounds so that's good. The 2nd EC was probably the most accurate EC in terms of how they'd fight.

Storytelling: I like the story, uncovering secrets about this world is always cool. I'm going back to get that project...

Fairness: I didn't get a dev item but I'm not too worried about it, I think like 3 were handed out but the sum of coins more than made up for it. (I still want my 12 day levitation potion >Sad )

Overall: 10/10 great event

Any other comments: power...

Which Event: So you Wanna be a Knight, Huh?

Responsiveness: Very quick, this man's WPM is off the charts!

Balance: Fair and balanced. And +++ for the Sun EC. Very fun fight, probably the most fun event fight I've ever had.

Storytelling: I believe I can fly. But nah, good story as well, it was nice and engaging. I didn't find myself bored for a second.

Fairness: Fair and balanced yet again. ^.^

Overall: 10/10. Cold event.

Any other comments: I cut through the sun.

Key/Character: Anthonio Montclaire
Which Event: Secret Library

Responsiveness (Were their narrations posted within a reasonable time-frame and were they quick to respond?): Quick.
Balance (How entertaining were the battles, and any obstacles/traps?): Extremely fair. It was a solo event, but all of the fights were fair and came down to the last bits of health.
Storytelling (Did it feel like an adventure, did the content of the narrations meet your expectations?): I'll be honest, I didn't expect a whole lot going in since solo events are usually a bit dull. But he was able to put a unique spin on which made the event really fun.
Fairness (Were the punishments justified and earned, was the risk to reward ratio good?): Super fair.

Overall: 10/10

Any other comments: If you're looking for a solo development based event, I highly suggest asking Jumpy to run it. You'll have a great time.

Which Event: Radiance in Dragon Fire

Responsiveness (Were their narrations posted within a reasonable time-frame and were they quick to respond?): Incredibly responsive. He had the narrate already done by the time he summoned us, etc.
Balance (How entertaining were the battles, and any obstacles/traps?): The fights were hard but not impossible. They also weren't piss easy either. Everyone went down, and if I had messed up during the last fight (1v1 of me versus the dragon's head), I would have easily lost.
Storytelling (Did it feel like an adventure, did the content of the narrations meet your expectations?): The story telling was straight forward. We ICly knew very little of what awaited us, and the surprise was extremely worth it. I was NOT expecting that last boss whatsoever.
Fairness (Were the punishments justified and earned, was the risk to reward ratio good?): I think the fairness was perfectly fine. We got limited uses of medic, and a good amount of perms and temps scattered between us based on who went down and who rolled what.

Overall: 10/10

Any other comments: trembling excitement

Which Event: Radiance in Dragon Fire

Responsiveness (Were their narrations posted within a reasonable time-frame and were they quick to respond?): Responded quickly enough, 10/10
Balance (How entertaining were the battles, and any obstacles/traps?):  Bullied me with the 12 Glacier special move, 9/10, 10/10 on the last fight though.
Storytelling (Did it feel like an adventure, did the content of the narrations meet your expectations?): It felt like a dungeon dive with an explosive teamwork finish. 10/10
Fairness (Were the punishments justified and earned, was the risk to reward ratio good?) 10/10

Overall: Good Ending

Which Event: Radiance in Dragon Fire

Responsiveness (Were their narrations posted within a reasonable time-frame and were they quick to respond?): Quick responses that never left me feeling bored or that I had to wait too long to see the story of the event progress.

Balance (How entertaining were the battles, and any obstacles/traps?): Fair, very fair. This is my second Jumpy event of E3 and he has yet to disappoint.

Storytelling (Did it feel like an adventure, did the content of the narrations meet your expectations?): Story was quite cold, and the ending...? Man, it was something new, something I could appreciate.

Fairness (Were the punishments justified and earned, was the risk to reward ratio good?) Quite fair, once again.

Overall: Cold event, if you need something run and this dude is available? Hit him up!

Key/Character: Emilia
Which Event: Call of Njorun

Responsiveness (Were their narrations posted within a reasonable time-frame and were they quick to respond?): Extremely responsive! A solid 9.5/10 out of 10! It didn't feel as if your questions were ignored either.

Balance (How entertaining were the battles, and any obstacles/traps?): About as balanced as I could ever dream. There was a decent amount of us, but the battles were all hard-fought. They were obstacles meant to push us forward and give us a bit of practice instead of just tearing us down and leaving us injured! 10 out of 10!

Storytelling (Did it feel like an adventure, did the content of the narrations meet your expectations?): The lore significance of the characters and setting involved were kind of lost on me.. But the setting that the DM was able to build was well worth waiting for. The players and the DM made a super engaging story that was easy to fall in love with. 9.5 out of 10!

Fairness (Were the punishments justified and earned, was the risk to reward ratio good?): 10 out of 10. Period! I got some injuries, but they're cool, so I've got to let it slide!

Overall: This was my first event, and Jumpy made it so much easier to transition into than I thought. I've never done combat like this, but I didn't feel like I got singled out any more than the other characters. He was quick to tell me that I could rebind keys for comfort and ease of access, he created a compelling story for all involved.

Any other comments: I'd recommend this DM if you really want your event to feel like something out of a movie, or your favorite novel, or series! Every second leaves you wanting more, and he definitely delivers. Heart
