At the end of the year, an announcement comes from the fortified island of Mavethkar of a recent change in leadership. With the founder of the ziggurat taking a step back to focus on upcoming projects, and in his place a new regent steps forwards to continue bringing the ideals of Babylon to Meranthe. The following changes to policies are announced, effective immediately.

"For long, we've served - helped, assisted, advised; Mavethkar will continue helping those in need - on the condition that they commit in some way to this place; we have always been here, and here we shall remain."

☌ - The previous regent, The Architect of Mavethkar, Urano Mephan, has been found absent, news of his departure on a pilgrimage, and working on projects of his own, stated as his reasons for absence.

☌ -The Scholar Christophore Garijn has stated his desires to continue expanding the library of Mavethkar, and announces his intent to buy any and all books containing knowledge and information regarding the history of Meranthe, and its various forms of magics. The Atrellyan threat of invasion, death, and destruction looms ever above the nations of Meranthe. The tides of war march with the recent death of the King of Fortune to the Captain of the Deathwind Fleet in a vile act of Necromancy. Yet time marches forward, and with it, changes occur - some subtle, while others glaringly obvious to even those who do not pay heed to newspapers nor rumor alike.

Within the middle of the year, the announcement comes seemingly suddenly, but in truth it’s a predictable and inevitable truth: the passing of a torch. The former Oracle, Loramelian Ueda, is pleased to step down for his successor. With this news, comes a small declaration from the former Oracle:

“I am grateful to Oracle Thomas Equisol for the chance to retire. Of course, I shall continue to serve Gloomlight - simply in a role befitting my passion for magical research and innovation. I am satisfied that I leave my city and its people in the best of hands.”

With the announcement and the subsequent passing of the torch, the new Oracle immediately some of his own proclamations, yet not a speech:

◊ The official state sanctioned religion within Gloomlight and Unreality is following the doctrine of Athelios. All other religions, while able to 

be preached and practiced in private, are not to be held publicly. As previously announced by the Pontifice, Falke Bargiel, church is mandatory for Aphrosi citizens.

◊ For those interested in following the Asperan doctrine or the more mysterious Ordinance, please speak to a Priest or Priestess. Some 

examples include Loramelian, Miriam Equisol, Falke Bargiel, the Vice Chancellor of the Republic Lirael Equisol and the High Chancellor of the Republic, Melos Equisol.

◊ In light of the Atrellyan invasion, the Oracle has ordered a census to be conducted post haste of all magi capable of fighting for both the 

Grove’s cause, as well as the Republic’s own. Along with this is a census of the Bastion as well, to account for Knights and Squires and who 

needs to be more personally trained. For recruitment please see the nearest sign up point, or speak to a Knight or above!

◊ With Loramelian Ueda’s retirement, comes an open slot for the Oracle’s personal secretary. Yet it does not appear that the new Oracle is 

currently searching. This may change in the future, however…

point of contact are recommended her way.

Arcadia has ever held itself as the vaunted land of the Wolken, of Hope, and Light; and with time, things change, things arise further.. In the wake of Atrellya's invasion, the councilmen and Seekers of Joy become ever-reclusive, for a short time- plans are made, preparation, and festivals are held to honor the mote of life that we may still hold onto, the resplendent harmony that our goddess brings to our land, and the hope that we may still yet hold.

» Some time ago, an attempt was made to cleanse the Kaorblade, Coronacht; and rid the soul of Varrach from the plane, forcing it back into a cycle of rebirth; despite initial impressions that this has worked, The Order of the White confirms that the Imperfect Varrach has returned; Arcadia will ever be a safe haven, opening their doors to all who need their protection.

» ... and their goddess, Azalea, has ascended into the seat of the Ten, officially taking Aschea's role and realm within Vanaheim; with this, it is rumored that she will return to walk among men if they are to hold their faith. Those with intentions aligned with the Pantheon are encouraged to seek out the Keeper, Maven, or a Songbird of Harmony to offer their aid and blessings of faith. 

» In her departure from the realm, Azalea leaves the Aerodyne, the last messengers of her will, to finally leave their cages and fly the earth; they are messengers, singers, and songbirds who know of her song, and carry her Harmony with them; Keeper Mitra assures them all that they will have homes within Arcadia's lands so long as they remain.

» In the wake of the Atrellyan invasion, Arcadia severs it's ties with the Ruby Empire, Gakaiyo, for the time being, ending their role as a vassal to the lands of Aegis; the Keeper mentions this to be in part due to the errors made by the worshipers of Ualdir in harming the goddess Azalea during her rite of ascension... though, Keeper Mitra assures that they will ever remain allies, this was necessary for their survival..

» ... and in turn, they move to align themselves beneath the banner of the Realm of Delphina, assuming a lordship beneath the banners of the Lumin King; Arcadia now pledges itself as an official state of Delphina, in order to strengthen the bond between their peoples and the faith they hold in one another.

» This means that Arcadia will enforce Delphinian law; namely, the barring of Occultism within their borders. Exceptions are to be made for diplomatic matters, to be monitored and kept private by the High Keeper.. Regardless, Arcadia stands stronger than ever, holding hope that their goddess may return, they might find the answers in regards to the secrets of purifying the undead, and cleansing a witch's soul; and at the end of the road, the Secrets of the White.

Commander Beck Busterlamb has stepped away from his position. In his place Aeric Wilkinsson has risen to become The Commander of Londo and begun seeking more recruits. Following the coup- A less than public execution was had. It was seen that none other than Alexander Durant was killed for the crimes against Londo.

Year 2135 AC

Though it's been some years since an official statement, the Traverse has not been idle. Growing and developing, it has shifted from a tiny little island town, to a bustling port. And with its growth, finally, have come changes... And a statement from one of its Suzerains.

"Our people have long been focused upon the future, and on building the dream that the Traverse was founded upon. Every step we take together fills me with pride. As we grow, let us continue to be a nation of harmony that welcomes all that wish to learn and share their culture, hopefully well into the future to come."

Construction of a lighthouse temple to Memoria has been completed, and furnishings are being brought in. The place is rumored to be the site of an upcoming ritual to be held by Elizabeth Montelione.

Mnemosyne Montelione gathers together the energies of those eager to fight the invading forces of Atrellya, gathering together her power as well in a similar ritual. The two Suzerain both readying to perform great, concluding acts meant to protect the Traverse and the Southern Seas. The seas themselves seem to stir, with fishermen and Sirenians whispering the name 'Iltheris'...

Rumors abound, likewise, of the upcoming retirement of the rulers. Signs begin to point towards Parmoni being groomed towards leadership, with the Suzerains' son Marinel offering support. In a public statement, Elizabeth had this to say:

"My wife and I grow old, and we have given much for the land. Whilst I am not ready to announce an heir, know that things are being carefully considered. That being said, as Syne and I prepare our rituals, I ask that everyone support my son and Parmoni, and turn less-important matters to their gaze."

As ever, the Traverse remains a part of the Republic, though due to their culture's inclination towards inclusiveness, some have started to use it as a neutral ground for meetings and discussions. Those not of the Fel, with peaceful intent, are allowed to visit, though are watched carefully for any wrongdoing.

A large pack of Ookami, Melodians from all accounts, have recently joined the Traverse. Making their den in a grounded ship on the Southwestern shore of the Traverse, they are considered at bare minimum allied whilst they settle in and get acclimated. Despite some worries, the rulers assure all citizens that worship of the Melodian faith is allowed, and that the practices of the pack are not dangerous for the Traverse's citizens.

Finally, rumors speak of soldiers sent from New Atlantis... Young men and women sent to complete their training in the Traverse and serve as new Tidewardens within its military. But these are still but rumors as of yet.

Following a decisive turn in the war against the Deathwind Fleet with the death of the infamous necromancer Vyldrax and the successful defense of Nilhirra,  the island known to some as the heart of the Kingdom of Fortune, a surge of restored morale and activity rises in the nation spread across small islands. With their late King avenged, ships with flags of blue and gold not only patrol around the Kingdom's seas, but scout far west and north, keeping eyes out for the opportune moment to commit their small but fierce fleet to the fight against Atrellya.

Merchant vessels and civilian ships alike have been seen transporting large amounts of bulk supplies and workers toward the docks of Sapphire Bay, with construction work to refit and develop the island beginning, walls of stone starting to rise on the old capital. A ceremony is to take place upon the isle with completion of the project, designating military promotions and honors bestowed upon those the Kingdom recognizes as heroes, and rumored to culminate in a wide-scale, extended tournament hosted by the Princess Meri.

The Church of The Navigator takes root as a recognized faith of Enarr within the nation, spreading quickly amongst the populace of seafarers. Given the ties to the royal family, namely Perseus Emeraldi, it is seen as the Kingdom's official sect of worship, though this is not officially established and the kingdom's notable population of Caius worshippers continue their practice freely and unabated.

In recognition of her talents and with approval by her elders and peers, the young Princess Meri Emeraldi is officially named Admiral of the Royal Navy, given full authority over the marines and the captains beneath her, trumped only by the crown itself.

A small amount of supplies and budget are relegated to reigniting an old project of Fortune's history, though details are kept tight, even amongst Fortune's populace. This allegedly includes the Queen herself, who simply claiming it 'the effort for brilliant minds to continue the work of a past genius'.

Quartermaster Tate Brier has issued a bounty for two items, lost to the Deathwind Fleet following the death of King Marfons Emeraldi on the island of Korcula. The king's prisminthium wedding ring and the pair of pistols once belonging to Stede Vane, dubbed 'Fortune and Misfortune' are highly sought after, with talks of her paying one to two hundred thousand gold for the returned relics. Lesser but still noteworthy prices are being offered by the felinae for the capture of other remnants of the Deathwind Fleet. Inquire with her for more information.

Anyone with eyes could see it. The Crescent Fortress and it's Atrellyan inhabitants were on their last legs these last few years. It was hardly even a consideration that they might assist in the ongoing invasion from mainland Atrellya and the Demon King's forces. But lately, the Fortress has been buzzing with activity. Spies from enemy nations might report the coming and going of many antagonizing forces. Even the likes of Xarxes and Varrach being seen now and then.

What could this mean for the future of the Fortress?

The turning point for the Fortress seems to be the recent revival and Ascension of a certain Nightmare Demon.

• In no uncertain terms, Zetian has named herself Demon Lord of the Crescent Fortress and the Moonfallen Coven.
  
• She has stated that her previous offer is still on the table. For those too afraid to try and shelter from the storm that is the Demon King's army.
  
• Additionally, more and more small demon spawn have been seen roaming the lands. Certainly not of the Demon King's army.
  
• With the success of the Lumin King's Samil'shann, some demons have been seen retreating to the Crescent Isle, with no other imperfect or ascendant to lead them.

“These first few years of my reign have been a doozy, haven’t they?! However despite what has been thrown at us, we continue to 

show the entirety of Meranthe, no, Eternia, that we are made of sterner stuff than most. We have repelled the Atrellyan attack upon 

our home, and have routed the enemy within the East. Now we look cautiously towards the West as they prepare for the same fight 

we found ourselves in, such a short time ago.

However that doesn’t mean our work is over, or far from complete. In order to fortify our borders, we are still taking 

donations of coin, political favors, and items such as ore and alchemical reagents and food in order to stem 

over any future plans, so we are not caught unawares or lacking.

Yet even as we look inwards in order to expand and broaden our horizons, we must also look outwards to those 

who would threaten our people, and our way of life.

◊ Gloomlight is a Devoted Settlement, honoring Athelios in all ways. While there are Krausites living within Unreality and Gloomlight, honoring the Grand Design - the official state religion continues to be that of Athelios.

◊ Even with the successful routing of the enemy Atrellyan forces, the government of Gloomlight continues to accept donations. Please see the Oracle, the Commander of the Bastion, Hajime Akatsuki, or either captains, Justia or Barron Bargiel, in order to donate.

◊ With the successful defense of Gloomlight, the city state has found itself in possession of unique items, ripe for study. One may try to inquire with relevant parties in order to ascertain more knowledge… Potentially…

◊ With Falke Bargiel's absence, a hole has been seen within the ranks of the Asperan Church. With that in mind, Briar Ainsworth has been appointed Pontifice in her place. For those aspiring to become members of the clergy, or who wish to confess their sins in the face of Athelios, please see her.

◊ Due to the diligent work of the Oracle, Thomas G. Equisol, Madavayanna Gregoris has been at last freed from his captivity within Martyr’s Vigil. Some whisper that the agreement made with Midpoint was against Fortune’s wishes, and there is tension between the ranks of Gloomlight and the leadership of the naval protectorate of the Vigil, but these are just whispers… Right?

◊ There has been a Watchtower erected slightly North of Gloomlight, giving the Bastion command of the road right north of there. Patrols are frequent, and those who call Gloomlight their enemy should be weary…

◊ With the resurfacing of Azalea, now known as Koretheia, work is underway to find a common bridge between those of the Holy State of Gloomlight and Arcadia. One such bridge that exists is the Oracle’s very wife, Miriam Equisol, who was blessed by Koretheia to become one of her own songbirds, an Aerodyne.

◊ The Mind Eater, Talguth, the exalted spirit who protects the realm in Unreality, has been seen holding rituals of sorts within Unreality. What this means is up for anyone’s guess unless they were present. Naturally, he may be privy to explain its purpose if one simply asks.

◊ The Bastion is, as always, recruiting. Speak to the Commander, either Captains, or a Knight in order to be made a Squire of the order. There is a future planned co-op training session between the Bastion and Martyr’s Vigil as well! Who knows what that could spell!

◊ There is talk of tensions rising between those of Gloomlight and the people of Varesia. Some rumors speculate the group had brought an Undead into its borders, with the Oracle ordering their arrest. The result was the capture of a child, held until the so-called High Chancellor works to secure the child’s release. One can only guess as to what the future holds between the Equisol and his wayward half brother, Pierre. Are these tensions from good intentions, or a brother chastising his own?

With a new year comes new challenges, as the Atrellyan Invasion reaches the doors of the West.

• Much of the Nest could be seen coming together in their final moments as many of the seasoned warriors of the nation stepped forth to try and defend the lines against such demons.
  
• Many great Drakanites fought to their last breath, as amidst the bloodshed only the commander could be seen among the survivors of his kin.
  
• Amongst the fallen are Cruse Peralte, Leonard Dawnseeker, Rune Kazana, and Mhyrrk.
  
• In the moments passing the initial invasion, there is word spreading of an upcoming memorial to honor the fallen. 
  
• With a large gap created in the aftermath, the Nest looks to recover, rebuild...and mourn.
