A psionic entity that draws power from the memories of others, a metaphysical-attuned not-existence that bends the very laws of Reality to its will, a scholar of the deeper mysteries of existence, something that is innately unknowable, eldritch, beyond the ability to properly comprehend. One can view interacting with this entity as looking through a filtered lens, seeing only what their mind interprets rather than what was truly taking place.

It dwells within its Realm in Unreality, a paradoxical null-dimension that does not exist, performing its impossible works beyond the prying eyes and stringent laws of existence. It's said that any could approach its domain, its Seat of Power, and enter into bargain with this Greater Spirit.

All for the low price of a single memory.

Rumors[edit]

The validity of these claims is up to speculation.

  • It's been described as a former Demon, the concept and identity of such extracted from its being, although the validity of this claim remains a point of contention.
  • The Gateway, the midnight portal connecting its Realm to Reality, is known to be mobile, shifting places to different points within Meranthe by the will of the Mind Eater. The mechanics of these movements, however, are not quite understood beyond it being distinct from the standard Traversal Magics one would be familiar with.
  • It's never been seen beyond the lands surrounding the Gateway, lending credence to the claim that it is unable to manifest itself into Reality much further than the Gateway itself.
  • As with much involving this entity, the extent of its abilities are an unknown, but the Laws of Reality seem quite pliable to it, a mastery over the Metaphysical on display. It is, presumably, formidable indeed, although extremely restricted in how it might interact with Meranthe.
  • Psionic Parasites, slug-like creatures that attach themselves to one's cerebral tissue and awaken them to the world of the Psychic, are known to originate from this entity and its Realm. This has been a topic of heated discussion, some believing them to be a way to control and influence those of Meranthe, but the truth of the matter remains to be seen.

Lorekeeper - OOC[edit]

This is a lorekeeper: A character played by a DM that has an active role in the world. They are different from standard PCs as follows,

  • Cannot join raids unless they're specifically a target; this includes all offensive battles.
  • Cannot intervene through combat to prevent a capture or be intervened on.
  • Should avoid roaming the map if it could potentially lead to hostilities unless disguised.
  • Can host mini-events, spawn items, etc, with GM supervision. Also acts as a mentor figure and gateway to potential magic or plot hooks.
  • Can kill / be a threat, but should do so with good reason and at a high standard.
