Journal
A journal is a special type of biography that a player can keep of their character on the forums. The content of this biography can range from little to vast, and you can be rewarded for your efforts through this. It is an alternative to the application system.
Special passives can be awarded, as well as mastery tokens. These can be used to buy hidden magics without specific applications, so long as you still meet the requirements. Some hidden spells will not be listed, and must be obtained through normal spell applications.
When reviewing a player journal, judgement administrators typically look over four core parts of a character and player:
Writing: This is always going to vary and what we appreciate more than anything is passion. If you're going out of your way to write an interesting character that's immersed in the lore, often has scenes beyond small talk and social roleplay, then you're on the right track.
Engagement: Are they getting involved with other characters, or a small, close knit group that they're on good terms with OOCly?
Plans: What are their short term and long term goals? Will they lead to dramatic moments, shock and awe? Is it likely we're going to see big plot pay offs?
Attitude: Have they been known to be argumentative with others, or harass people? Are they welcoming and helpful?
Special Passives[edit]
Sometimes, instead of mastery tokens, a player may be awarded with a passive spell that can give stats or an increase to activity point gain. They are reserved for characters that are well-written and have good conduct.
Rewarded to players who are clearly passionate about their writing and the direction of their character. Their character's personality is distinct and they actively pursue their motives:
Ruby: +15% Activity Point Gain
Sapphire: +20% Activity Point Gain, +5 Power / +5 Vitality
Not only can you feel the soul of the character, but the author themselves are cooperative, friendly, do not engage in drama, and have no recent history of metagame or poor play. They abide by the rules of the game and are forward thinking, and they've never designed a character's magic based on what they think is the strongest rather than what they feel enhances their tropes:
Amethyst: +30% Activity Point Gain, +10 Power / +10 Vitality
Mastery Token Spells[edit]
The following spells can be obtained by spending mastery tokens instead of applying for a spell. Keep in mind that when using mastery tokens, you will need to have the appropriate mastery points, required magic, and archetype for certain hidden spells.
Note that you still have to pay the full RPP cost. A mastery token simply waives the need for a formal application.
Information on the spells, including their costs, can be found on the Mastery Magic page.
