Chaotic Dungeoning with Didos
#51
Character: Raven Caewynn
Which Event: Recycling an Empire

Responsiveness (Were their narrations posted within a reasonable time-frame and were they quick to respond?):
Didos took at best 10 minutes to reply, most likely due to him preparing the next room/fight and all that. Very fast and very responsive overall.

Balance (How entertaining were the battles, and any obstacles/traps?
Personally, as someone who has dpalm on the bar... I enjoyed running into aoes/skills only to press the funny button. I believe for our group it was not too hard but not too easy either, given we did not have any melees. The traps triggered had an unexpected effect and gave me a chuckle or two, and the solution to our puzzle was a nice catch too. (God bless the Director)

I did not like, however, having a dent in the head. :thumbs-down:

Storytelling (Did it feel like an adventure, did the content of the narrations meet your expectations?):
The storytelling was interesting, despite my never playing E3. The event wasn’t overly convoluted, which I appreciate for my not-very-big brain.  Each narrate was peak writing, and met exceeded expectations!

Fairness (Were the punishments justified and earned, was the risk to reward ratio good?)
Yes! Didos was more than fair with the injuries and punishments, as well as the rewards. I believe everyone got something uniquely crafted for their IC, so that's all good. We also were able to use our IC to the full potential of our skills, so overall, it was very fair to all involved. I am just sad Wolfram is still alive.

Which Event: Recycling an Empire

Responsiveness (Were their narrations posted within a reasonable time-frame and were they quick to respond?):
Extremly fast with the only few spots where things went to a halt being because Didos had to (probably) multitask a little or set things up.

Balance (How entertaining were the battles, and any obstacles/traps?
The first fight was a little mean but given the reward we got for it, it was a good act of balance. Boss-fights felt like boss-fights and thus I cannot complain in the slightest in what was thrown our way.

Storytelling (Did it feel like an adventure, did the content of the narrations meet your expectations?):
Not what I expected but in a good way. When I threw out the spiritmancer stuff back during the whole planning stage, I did not expect to be able to pull my worth story wise this much, given that I know little about e3 lore. Was a neat look at what could be done with the whole magitech in an unconventional angle.

Fairness (Were the punishments justified and earned, was the risk to reward ratio good?)
Melee is suffering but I know what I signed up for. Was a shame about the ending where things had to be scaled back duo to one internet blowout and someone having to leave but what can you do. Was fair and I could still play a bit closer to a supportive role in combat and SOMEHOW turned full information gathering specialist which was a nice and appreciated turnabout.

Which Event
Roaming Halloween EC: Headless Horseman

Responsiveness (Were their narrations posted within a reasonable time-frame and were they quick to respond?):
Their narrations were timely and quick between rounds and before the battle started. They got us in and out of the fight quickly even with lag.

Balance (How entertaining were the battles, and any obstacles/traps?
The battle was very entertaining, they even went into my theme. They gave me an injury that even attunes to my spirit. It questioned what I am and I enjoy this from a story element.

Storytelling (Did it feel like an adventure, did the content of the narrations meet your expectations?):
I expected a normal EC experience as I have been against one of those, but it was more than that. I am not a big fan of IRL Theme events but this was better than I expected. A dulluhan being something I want to go against again. (With less lag but that wasn't his fault.)

Fairness (Were the punishments justified and earned, was the risk to reward ratio good?)
With us lagging all over THE DM allowed us some leeway, the rewards were great and themed to the creature from the RPs. We didn't face anything too harsh with us going down, it was an all around fair experience. I would love to run into another event by the DM

Mitra Prithvi

Which Event
Extinction (Certain Death)

Responsiveness (Were their narrations posted within a reasonable time-frame and were they quick to respond?):
Narrations came out very reasonably paced and gave a lot to respond to, I never found that we were waiting for too long. It took longer than I thought it would to get to the fight but as it tied together, it was satisfactory and perfect.

Balance (How entertaining were the battles, and any obstacles/traps?
At the start of this event, the following occured:
- Mitra gave everyone Titan of Light as a toggle spell.
- Camino immediately injured the boss with a spell-scroll.
- We had about seven other tricks up our sleeves.

I can't comment on balance. We deserved the round where seven occult aoes were dropped on us.

Storytelling (Did it feel like an adventure, did the content of the narrations meet your expectations?):
Stellar. Left room for the party to shine. A perfect roundabout back to the beginning. Some of the best roleplays I've written in the game made and a fitting end for my character.
Fairness (Were the punishments justified and earned, was the risk to reward ratio good?)
didnt get anything, i actually died so i had to give all of my uniques as extra loot. :/

10/10. Thank you for hosting and thank you for bearing with us to the very end as we assaulted you with every rule in the book.

Sunsets over Moonlight

Which Event
Extinction (Certain Death)

Responsiveness
Timely and attentive to what each character attempted. Everyone's attempts were considered especially the heavily developed ones. There wasn't any punishment for coming prepared, per se. Developed instances got their time to shine and I appreciate that from a storytelling and narrative point of view.

Balance
As Kynim said, we received buffs as a result of particular IC actions, giving us an edge in combat. There was a point during round 2 where everyone got blown up by a giant black hole that really put me on my toes. I had only one damaging spell on my bar and was more focused on keeping everyone up. But then it was just Camino and Sunsets over Moonlight standing with his crazy burst and their crazy sustain. Alas... we didn't clutch it : ( But we could have and that's what made it fun.

Storytelling
I liked this old man demon sage. It played off nicely with Camino also being an old man. The challenges faced turned out to be fine given the fact that Camino himself is living history. Though had he gotten a different party, this is not too likely.

Fairness
Pretty fair as far as loot goes. A sort of free for all with what was available. Mitra's corpse was also looted which is kind of fucked up.

Overall:
Very enjoyable for my first Didos event where someone actually died. Solid DM all around. Would recommend.

Which Event: The Wandering EC

Responsiveness: 10/10

Balance: 10/10 But dear god Lethe was destroyed

Storytelling: This was just a wandering EC. Super simple but it was funny.

Fairness: At no point did I feel we were being done wrong. It got harder with each round.

Overall: Didos I can be a bit bias to. Brother has some of the best events. Guy just cooks

Character: Zerscala Aisenliche

Event: Wandering EC: Scarecrow

Responsiveness: Very responsive, never kept us waiting. Fun, short and sweet.

Balance: Never felt like I was truly doomed no matter what I did, and this is without an EC bar, invuln, speedup, etc., remained fair and fun for all parties (even the armed schmucks)

Storytelling: Cute side-plot, earns itself a neat badge and a special place in my hunting hunting heart.

Fairness: Cute, niche, versatile loot with lots of immediate use! I'm screaming that I gave mine away.

Overall: 10/10, cute, short, sweet, awesome, fun. Neat and no complaints, aside from the server reboot that was clearly sabotaging Didos specifically and only him, yes, yes...

Character: Lethe

Which Event: The Wandering EC

Responsiveness: 5/5. We never had to wait long for any narrations, which addressed actions made by players. Awesome!

Balance: 5/5. No issue with this here! I came extremely under-equipped and under-prepared, but otherwise - it was well set up for a 5 man party!

Storytelling: 5/5. Pretty cute and a bit comedic (for me). The EC falling downward and coming back up again after being hit was a great narration. Loved the little story here and the dev I got out of it!

Fairness: 5/5. I felt bad that one of the party crew gave my character a pity prize.. I was suffering, and my item has to DO with suffering.. it's kind of funny.  Cry Sorry, Zerscala..

Overall: Holy fucking shit I got fucking owned and got PTSD. Prison of Pain into the EC spell nuked me in the last round. It was funny and went well with the injury I got. Glad I got to tag along!
