Kickstarter: Vampire Bite Research
#1

Quote:Over a year has passed since posters requesting volunteers have gone up in certain locations. Since then another call for assistance has come up- this time fiscal in nature. While barebones posters illustrate the vague idea, those who want an official transcript can find it at their local library.

Quote:To whom it may concern,

My name is Andrial. Over the past two years I have been researching vampire bites. Cause, effect, discrepancies and everything in between. While I'm still interested in gathering data (will pay 250c for your experience), I am now beginning to test prototypes of a potion that I think will change the world.

It is not something that I can do alone.

If you wish to contribute  your alchemical or medical skills, please send me a letter and I will see if I can find a place for you.

If you wish to donate money to this research it would be very much appreciated. Experimenting with strange reagents and operating a laboratory for an extended amount of time is expensive. Additionally, creating whatever potion comes from the research will be costly.

If you wish to ask me about my research or see my notes, feel free to approach me.

My goal is to reach the level of funding below and complete the final potion design within two or three years. The further we can go beyond that goal, the more I can do. Top donators will be among the first to be able to try the potion- which I hope will prevent vampires from biting entirely while under its effect.

Thank you all for your assistance.

Anyone who wishes to donate a large sum of money publicly, individually or on behalf of a settlement, can post their donation below. Otherwise find the Teraphim in-game.

As with all kickstarters donation themes, the bar won't stop at thirty thousand! The more the merrier.

You can also donate at your local stall! Check the second page.

STRETCH GOALS
100k- Faster rollout on the potion; a grand reveal event with a raffle for several free samples.
200k- This will fund the construction and staffing of a laboratory built (location undecided) for further specialized research. It will be open for all research projects that advance humanity positively.
300k- (extremely) advanced work on my next project- a machine that can be installed in hospitals to heal injuries without the assistance of a trained medic. Just press a button!
500k- Babline plushies.

"okay," said the purple-haired, retired Stellus of Osrona as he waits to give the Teraphim a sum of 12'500.

"I, Elys Gardios, support and would love to fund the research on this, and I would advise all others to do so; this is the future, no?"

Quote:The Azure Adventurer offers their help on behalf of Star's Shelter and his family in helping the research move along. While he may be busy with his own research, he is still willing to offer the financial support to complete the goal of fighting against the vampires one way or another.
"Sadly, I can't help with the research myself, but vampires are a scourge to Esshar and it's in Osrona's best interest to eradicate them. I can only hope that what starts with a remedy to vampire bites will end up as a cure to vampirism entirely."

With that, the drakanite aims to complete the goal by donating the whole target of 30'000 by himself, urging Osrona citizens to further aid the research in any way they can, and for their leaders to act in support of this research.
"Let's see how well you can do, shall we?"
He can only hope it won't end up like the air umbrella.

Wow! We hit our fundraiser goal so quickly!! More donations are accepted, of course. More money means more success.

Can't find Andrial? Shy? Lazy?! Osrona now has a donation stall, check the second page.

Rumors spread, whether it be from word of mouth or from the black market. From The Family came a donation of coin, with mention that Don Nikolai Docro met with researcher Andrial sometime recently.
The contents of the meeting unknown.

Word spreads that the Crown Princess, Eisele ras Petrakis, has donated a rather hefty sack of coins to the research of vampire bites.

"I believe it is the duty of the crown to support such cutting edge research."

Further assistance has been offered, the princess herself willing to be a test subject for the prototype potions even. Anything to combat against the vampiric threat.

Ems Vorenii was interested in the project as soon as it caught her attention, and her meeting with the teraphim only further encouraged her hand. Seeing herself in the Teraphim, she has donated 18,000 crowns in the name of scientific discovery.

"I expect great things. Don't be afraid to ask for medical or alchemical help."

+18,000c!

Thanks to the overwhelming donations, this project is in its final year of research! Excluding wait times for apps.

Donations are still welcome. Andrial is also looking for individuals who would like to test prototype potions and note down any adverse side effects.

If there are any ghouls or vampires that for some reason wish to volunteer their services or have been captured and have no choice you should also get in contact.

Thank you for your assistance. An especially big-ups, as they say, to the people of Osrona for their landslide contribution so far.

Word of a Sirenian who willed himself out of the Vampires curse spreads.

Truths to this fact? They all cost money, only real hint is that he is very tall and most likely better than you.

Blood Ward Bane
The potion is a success! Announced at a small gathering with random free samples given away, Andrial had the following to say.
Quote:"Good evening. My name is Andrial, one of Osrona's ministers. For the past few years I've been working on a potion to prevent vampiric bites. Today I'd like to announce its success."

"This is the blood ward potion... wait..."

"... somebody wrote blood bane instead. I guess this is the blood bane potion. I have several free samples to randomly give out tonight- but you must drink it as soon as it is offered to you. These original samples won't leave this room."

"While under the effects of this potion... vampires won't be able to bite you. It's simple. Even if they force themselves to with sheer willpower, none will be able to get more than a second or two in before forcefully withdrawing from the magical properties of the elixir. I'd like to thank the major donators, especially from Osrona, and everybody who gave their time and experience to research."

"... some vampires are livid at such an item being produced. Whether they babble or claw at the heavens and earth in protest, their fury means only one thing to me."

"That the potion is a success."

Q&A
Q: Is this poisonous/dangerous/have any side effects?
A: No.

Q: How long does it last?
A: A few months (48 hours).

Q: What are the ingredients?
A: Fairy dust, luminite, alessa, nightshade root and others. I will release a full ingredient list within a few years.

Q: Why not release the full ingredient list now?
A: I want to minimize risk to other crafters. I also do not want crafters profiting off of it.

Q: How much is a potion?
A:
1500c. If you bring the ingredients it will be free. As Minister I will not let the price exceed 1500c.

Q: What if the vampires create a counter?
A:
Then they have wasted their time. The potions purpose is primarily during battle.

Q: Will you create a method to cure bites?
A:
If I do, it will not be in potion form.

Q: What if a vampire drinks it?
A: It would be extremely painful but not debilitating.

Q: Are you okay with other people learning this potion?
A:
If their reasons are selfless. I encourage all to mimic and surpass my work.
