Heeding the Red Call

A young woman finds herself on the docks of Jianghu. Despite bearing distinct noble Osronan features, she has never been graced by its sights. But all of that will change within the coming years. For the call to return has finally reached the shores of the Grimmore emissaries in Sheng. Eager to restore her house's noble status within the City of Magic, Esther Ven Grimmore takes a deep breath, inhaling the salty airs of this shore for perhaps the last time. With a letter in hand, the young Grimmore looks it over one more time to ensure that no errors besmirched the refined piece of paper. 

Dear Uncle Atticus,

You may not know my parents, and even less so me, but your call has even reached as far as the embassies of Jianghu. The threads of fate are aligning, I just know it. I have been observing the stars every night, and it is no coincidence that Apodis had shown the brightest it ever had the day I recieved your letter. Mother and father tried to hide it, hide the truth of the dastardly deeds our kin had commited on the mainland; but I learned. While they are content resting on their laurels, I will not let them stop me from heeding your call. Our House has become unbalanced, and it is my duty to heal and restore its core. I may be young now, but it will take a few years to reach my land of birthright. I shall maintain my studies and catch up on recent history throughout my journey. I have even heard rumors of an academy in the process of being built. This is wonderful news, I shall apply as soon as I arrive. For knowledge and the quill is the greatest weapons outside of war. And of course I will search for you as well, then together we shall work towards a brighter future Uncle.
