For the gate/ramp up into the town, with the loss of the two dragon statues, the small dragon statues which can face both ways could be a good replacement, mainly because i really liked them

DragonJacket's Arena - Before and After
I'll preface this one similarly to the last one. This was exceptionally difficult. It is absolute hell to work with cliff tiles, but thanks to Milly's support I was able to pull it off without bitching in OOC incessantly. (If she posts after this, give her +rep, plz, the absolute goddess.) It's not a full-size arena, but if you ever kill anyone in it, you can throw them into the fucking magma. Note that I do not condone throwing people into magma, it's better to resolve your differences through communication. I won't be able to continue mapping DragonJacket until it updates so I can check visual things, so for the next few days I will be helping Achyon and BRHUEHUE's. Now, onto the feature presentation. ![]() ![]()

Looks really good Avee, so I take it that the lava arena is the new Gauntlet?

North-Central Forests - Before and After
Henceforth I doth decree this region be known as Crossroads This was a nice change from fucking Dragonjacket's mountains, which were an absolute top-level clusterfuck from which I will never fully recover. I still have some work to do up there, but for the most part unless it's a major change it will not be showing up on this thread. After having looked over the region, and briefly speaking with Chance regarding the level of corruption post-meteor, this was the design I settled on. It's still wooded, but decades of human movement through the region have left it slightly more navigable. Additionally, the intersection between Osrona-Moxtli-Achyon has been given a Billboard for potential bounties (Violence!) and has been given a small rest-stop for weary travelers. The region has been restocked on alchemy supplies, including the ever-evasive rope-root. Watch out adventurers who dare enter the corruption! Word has spread about the aberrant wildlife that calls it home. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

At the rest stop, a small pond or well, if people are going to camp/rest there, they need a place to refill water skins and such

This isn't an update, rather a fun adventure throughout the history of the Esshar map. Multiple iterations of Eternia have taught us that a smaller map is generally better. You can in this GIF, see the fat slowly cut off Esshar in the 3 major iterations.
I suppose I should explain -why- a smaller map is generally better. Made brief as possible, this is because the more people you cram into a smaller area, the more likely it is that these people will interact. Yes, with a larger map you have a greater area to explore, but the chance of interaction between characters who would have never meet is greatly reduced. You don't necessarily want a world where everybody knows everybody, but a smaller map helps prevent spurious plotlines that tax the administration. If you can narrow the number of plotlines down, you can effectively make each critical plot more interesting to the people in general. This naturally is just my opinion on things, and is by no means the reason these things have been done. I hope you all enjoy this random tidbit. ![]()
