On that note this reminded me of some of Dark Souls series spells that were used to work as both offense and defense.

But AoE's yeah. Maybe it was due to how crazy it could be to put them down. Such as previously holy scorch, scorch, holy/corrupted land.

I actually had thought inferno was that, but no... they are entirely different. And I really liked scorch too. I think my Plasma in Spires used it a lot. No idea why it got removed. Probably because maybe Magma has all of those now?

I think holy/occult aoes should receive their bonus effects back. Ever since they lost them + double ticks I've almost never seen them used.

Nope. It was just made bigger and turned into a hidden. I'm hoping just like how water and wind got new trees, that fire always gets a new tree.
