Let's get right into it, shall we. Just some things I've noticed

Explosion : There is a reason, why such a vast amount of people are going this. I really dont think--whoever does balancing looks at things as a whole. It looks like target nerfs in my opinion. Because I shouldnt have to point out the problem with this tree, and why its so successful right now.

Tornado : In a game full of homing slows, stuns, CC, confusion. Why is there an ability that last for -this- long that has one of the highest ticks in the game. At -200- pow. This is doing 600 a tick, not counting crits. From 3 different sources.  This ability is so strong, I've seen 3  builds that have no damage, just CC that build around Tornado as the main damage

Cosmic : Yea , the problem with Cosmic, is the invigorate. Yep. Not the impact damage of Cosmic aoe and the CC. Not the Cosmic dash free hit and high damage. . It's the invigorate.

Magma : I like magma. However. Just because you nerfed the CDs, doesnt mean its not overtuned. Magma is full of zoning , large aoes, and time wasting spells. CDs is not the problem, CC is the problem. 1.2k Ticks on magma aoes , that slow, is a problem. CDs mean nothing when you have this much zoning and damage walls infront of you

Sound : Aoe heal. Confuse. Homing slow. 3 tiled high damage push back. When I see trees like this, I dont think whoever balances has played Melee anytime as of late, and looks at this like. Good job me.

Metal : ....Moving on

Sand: Re-read Metal.

Shurikens / kunai : No App or rpp. 6k damage 3 tiled. If you think this is justified because its slow. Come on now. Do you think people really use this when someone isnt stunned or slowed?

Ice: Blizzard is like Tornado, just doesnt last  exactly as long, and wider range.

Illusion : Why does clone.... do 600 damage, and crits for 1k.  'Just kill the Clone Rod'. If I had the clone, I wish they would stop targeting me for a moment, to kill the clone. Just so I can rain on them, -and- summon it again.

Blah blah blah.

I think anyone who is using these trees has not a huge advantage, but a clear cut above the others. I'm bold enough to say, these people went these magics, because they are abusing the system. They -know- X and Y wont get nerfed or Buffed, or Atleast see how minimal nerfs ever are.

I don't think all of these suggestions will be made, but I'd be happy with atleast one. I don't have a high track record for my suggestions going through.

But, I know it'll get read by the right people.

Also, Jumpy makes the best Rod memes. Step your game up everyone else.

This is the first rod5 thread I've actually read from top to bottom rather than in diagonal.
Tornado is busted, he's right.
Magma is the king of zoning and stalling.
Sound is anti-melee for sure.
I love watching invigorate give decimal bonuses so it looks like the person just gained a trillion mana.

Bonus meme:
The first line isn't even a joke, it's reality.

No one stands still while fighting against tornado.  You've used Tornado enough times to know that it not only lands -hard- but also a ridiculous amount of times, lasting a also ridiculous amount of time. This only bugs out because the tornado is made to move with the player, which is does very well.

I dont see how a sound user can complain about not having the kit for Tornado to be effective.

When you use your CC well- Slow, and stun the enemy, only to see the tornadoes circle around them with no damage    Sad

I just want to mention, while the tornado homing AI isn't necessarily the best, and it is missing its AoE when targetting. Look at how much damage that shit did to the clone in try #1, and notice how much damage it did without targetting. Each tornado did 3 ticks on the clone, first try, and I want to say they did 4-5 when showing the AoE, per person. That is 27Dam (Without crits, and half were crits, mind you.)on the first attempt, and anywhere between 36 and 45 Dam per person (Uncrit, again) on the second attempt.

Tornado is single-handedly wind's best skill by a country mile, and I feel like that clip shows how ludicrous its damage is, for a skill that is quite literally, fire and forget.

Honestly? I agree, when the tornadoes -do- land together (sometimes they seperate while trying to give chase), they deal immense damage. However, as you saw, they can also end up doing nothing. In fact, if you try to "fire and forget" the spell, an enemy will be able to move around the tornadoes and still fight you. I've seen others move around the tornadoes well if it is just used as a "fire and forget" spell, and I've done it too in the past.

That said, I can understand the worry that the spell might be too OP, especially for a basic, if it will still keep its AoE while it targets and home on you. A possible way to nerf it is to nerf the damage then is by reducing the amounts of damage ticks it can do in a second, so that it won't quickly stack and add up like you can see in the recording.
However, that is more of an issue about spell balancing, so it may not be the best place to discuss it here  Blush

Also, p.s:
Targeting*, not targetting. Not at you, but at me- Used "targetting" in the video and it sets me off >.>

Although this is a discussion for all the suggestions.

It is still terrifying seeing a recording of how insane Tornado is. the fact that there is -3- of them and it last for like 30 seconds is insane

Added something about shurikens, Illusion , Blizzard

Im starting to see a trend here, the 'Click and forget' spells are just blatantly ignored.

This, reminds me of old Blood Miasma. Im starting to think that these linger spells werent balanced / looked at since Spires. Cause Blood Miasma wasnt pointed out, till I personally roared from the heavens about it.
