/rpp didn't really promote rping to rping, and writing a nice character but rping for checks and points. i'm confused as to why that's difficult to understand

What I don't understand is why that's such a common misconception. And let's say there are some people who did do that, who cares, if they want to rp a certain way who are you or I to say they can rp or not rp the way they want, at the end of the day they are still rping in an rp game, that breaks a total of 0 rules. Not to mention, your just snobbishly judging their rp at best, and making an unfair judgment on what people are rping for at worst.

I believe I can think of one legitimate detriment to /rpp if it helps Blue.
When /rpp was on, I've seen people preferred to use red text for every action and comment to try and reach the next rpp check, and only then would start roleplaying normally. The issue is, that sometimes those red texts were more forced than anything else, used even in scenes where they weren't as needed, and could cause delays in the roleplay as people try to pad out their emotes rather than focusing on the scene.

Ok, sorry to say this but here's a fact:
The fact is, this is the reason why /RPP was removed. People used /RPP like it was crack, it was a high for them, it was addicting and they would do it after every RP to see if they could go and shitpost or something. You're only proving the god damn point by ranting and raving about /RPP and begging for it to be added back. Chance gave us an intervention, he's taken away your drug and now you're in relapse. Stop crying about /RPP, it's not coming back. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk

Which effective means they can stop uh "red texting everything". When there is a system that encourages rp by giving skills and other in game advantages because of it, you think people aren't going to try their best to hit it? The only way to remove that problem is what everyone thinks removing /rpp has done, removing the quota. The quota isn't an issue and neither is checking to see if you hit it or not. It encourages people to rp, a system that encourages rp by giving skills because of it shouldn't make you feel "forced to rp" that's your problem at that point and not the system's.

Ranting and raving? It was a QoL thing, my problem is more so with the reasoning as to why it was removed then that it was removed in the first place, but thanks for the baseless assumption champ, you might want to fire your script writer for your ted talk show, he's not doing you any justice. All the command did was show you when you could stop RPing. People would spam it after every single redtext, go "oh i haven't qualified yet" and keep RPing.. or they'd see that they've hit their check and go "ok haha time to stop rping". This is clearly not healthy in a roleplaying game, even moreso when you get the 'you can't gain any more RPP today!' notification. Obviously we don't expect people to just go hard and redtext walls time and time again for nothing, but all the command did was encourage people to stop RPing after being rewarded.
Your entire argument is "well, if the system is in place, of course people are going to try and get the most of their rewards!", and cool, congratulations, but that's LITERALLY MISSING THE ENTIRE POINT OF THIS /ROLE PLAYING/ VIDEO GAME. You're meant to tell a story and interact with others, not mindlessly spam redtexts on the timer that you have "gamed" to figure out exactly how it works to get the most out of your checks. Not having /rpp is healthier for the game overall, it encourages people to actually roleplay and not just grind aimlessly towards getting the "you have qualified!" message, and it's never coming back. It was a bad system that was abused and only mattered so people could see when they could STOP rping. That's it. That's the entire command. And people used it like it was a miracle drug that they couldn't get enough of, religiously, over and over again. Stop bringing this up. I hate it. Keep /rpp dead and fucking buried.

tbh removing /rpp was an incredibly inconsequential change like i don't think the game or its players are better or worse off without it
