A missive goes out from the captain-general of Goldlight - an offer of employment, to all who are capable of taking the offer on. A chance for others to make some money exploring darker places.

I am in the hunt for ingredients of a particularly shadow-aligned persuasion. Whether that is in the form of strange critters, plants, fungi, insects, or even crystals, it matters little. The specific ingredients in question are likely to be found in regions that are devoid of natural light, and have been for a long time.

A prime example would be specific sections of the region known as the 'underdark,' the vast cave network beneath Meranthe. Other locations may exist throughout the lands, in various alternate caverns.

Do grab samples of the soil, water, and potentially even the air as well, that these things grow within and around. The environment within which these exist is crucial to continued study. Take notes, draw sketches.

The intent is cultivation, just as herbs can be grown at higher quality domestically- and thanks to a certain entity, the same was true for crystals. As a result, live specimens are vastly preferred.

A reward has been posted in monetary value, for the results being delivered to Grey Aundeoth directly.

Though it shouldn't need to be said, individuals aligned with the fel powers are not welcome. Specifically mentioned are Viritas, Pscaela, and Nilhirra - and after the prohibition, Ogretime as well.

An announcement will be made as the situation develops - with certain things becoming more desirable and others being saturated.

OOC Info: Travel to a suitable location and have a scene with your buddies harvesting the various ingredients you've chosen to go after! When it's done, save the scene to a rentry, and come hand both the ingredients and said scene to Grey. These aren't actual reagents, but rather, RP'd things which exist ICly. Have fun with it, go on a little adventure.

A flower with barbed petals from the autumnal regions, seeds included
A chunk of dense, living hardwood from the trees of the corrupted regions
Sketches of each and their environment

Soil and air samples from the region around them
Environmental observations including temperature

DESIRED:
Water samples from the various ponds
Air samples from different regions
Farmable quantities of living organisms - live eggs are fine

As the continent erupts into war, once more fliers and drones are pushed out. Whether or not these are connected to the recent military actions are unknown, as the former captain-general is now well retired! Despite that status, it seems he is well and intent on continuing his own personal projects. Those samples from the Underdark are still sought after...

Due to Lyam Hiraeth's interference, prior shipments of gathered material have been interrupted. Though frustrating, I am a patient man.

Hazard pay is warranted, of course... we would not want our fine contractors to feel unappreciated for their hard work!

A section of terrain south of the Vigil, on a small peninsula, has been wrapped in black fog. Golems wandering nearby the relatively small area ward off casual observers, with posted notes indicating some form of agricultural experiment is temporarily underway.
