The Crown of Caethir

Quote:
There was a disturbance in the throne room of Caethir today. King Adelaide of the Prithvi attempted to pronounce Vale of House Ackerman as Caethir's new Court Scholar, where he would serve the Kingdom with his knowledge in an official capacity. Surprisingly, however, the gesture prompted an impassioned speech. Vale refused, stating that he and others were planning to form a faction to oppose the monarch. They plan, in time, to deliver an ultimatum, to demand Adelaide's abdication of the throne in hopes of sparking a new era of prosperity for the settlement. Fear and talk of civil war spread in the room, however the King agreed to hear their grievances, proposing they work together to find a solution rather than resort to infighting following the recent end of a war.
One side believes it is time to be out with the old, to usher in a change for the better within Caethir's walls.
The other believes that they should take this time of reprieve to strengthen their community, rather than shake things up further.
Hopefully they will come to compromise, though the future is yet to be written.

A meeting will be held and grievances aired. Will an abdication follow, will conflict erupt in Caethir, Or will the King bring order and convince her opponents to follow her?

The meeting has been cancelled.

Franz Erbe has been slain by Vale Ackerman, who is working with the mercenary Adira to usurp Adelaide.
Despite her grief, the King has issued a statement.

Quote:"Any hope of collaboration was squandered the moment you took the life of Franz, and demanded Adira be allowed to rule Caethir.

I thought you of all people would know our Kingdom does not support oppression and gluttony.
You have been swayed by those traits personified to scorn the Crown, to insult your people by seeking to place the Fae upon a pedestal.
Your proposed concession of 'allowing' my family to remain in the place we founded, while ruled by someone who had made attempts on my life and threatened its people, is all but a blatant insult.

Come with your 'faction.' Knock on the gates of what was your home, holding hands with ruin.
We will answer.

It is not long after the announcement of the meeting's cancellation that flyers displaying the same meeting time alongside the a words "Vox Populi", as well as the location outside the castle gate as the new location of the meeting.[/align]
Spreading these flyers would be none other than a spiky haired Caethiri soldier wearing a thick pair of sunglasses known as Dagg. The energetic spreading of these pamphlets would be accompanied by what one could argue was also a public statement, but more of an unhinged rant.
Quote:
"Franz Erbe forced Vale Ackerman into a private room, and and tried to kill him when he realized he wasn't gonna get the throne passed off to him cause the people were sick and tired of complacent, rich nobles. He drew first blood, self defense isn't illegal in Caethir, even if the 1% think it is when it comes to them. Everybody that was ready to come to this meeting, let's show up on the front lawn and do it without Adelaide! It's not like she was ever around to lead us in the first place! Power to the people! She can't banish everyone in Caethir for disagreein' with her, she sure as hel ain't strong enough!"
The meeting was on. 6 PM EST

A meeting canceled? Who decided that?
Upon hearing the words of the "King". A response and statement is made public on the accord of Adira.

Quote:"You seem to be fairly mistaken believing you can dismiss me so easily. Never once have the people of Caethir been threatened by myself, they are who I seek to serve and uphold a promise that should've been made by -you-. To guarantee them safety and solidify bonds with the nations abroad. Franz Erbe attempted to slay Vale in his private quarters and failed at doing so in which he died to his own wounds. It would seem you and your loyal dogs are the only ones that can't see you corrupt the very home you are supposed to protect. You are a figurehead with no council. A false 'King' with no subjects to rule over because they've decided I am what's best for Caethir. I made the attempt at allowing both you and Franz to see this but you are blind.

As mentioned, I will be the one to serve the people. And the meeting is on. Whether you like it or not, you will not continue to ignore the demands of the people.

We -will- be present.
