Arcadia Counselor application

After the events of the last Gala, the position for new counselors was open. Today, the Keeper Svengalf Sandsker would speak in public, after weeks of being bed ridden.

I should have declared this earlier. Alas my health is as whimsy as a devilish fairy, as I just have recovered from sickness. I thank you all for your understanding, my deepest appologies for my absence. 

As mentionned in the last gala, we will need new counselors. There will be likely two or three positions available. 

Being a counselor means you will help its people and its internal organisation. That means you will be able to help with housing and architecture, helping in managing events, but also provide advices on the internal politics to take. In no means, you will be involved with external diplomacy altough, this is reserved for the ministers, an upper ranking in the council.
This is not a competition, the goal of the council is to work together towards a common goal. We come from many horizons, with different biologies and schedules. 

So if you are interested, take the stage, and present yourself to the populace, as you will be taking a leading position for them. Only residents of Arcadia for more than 5 years and being part of the Militia may apply to it, unless you have a recommendation from someone in the council to do.
Here is what we would like to hear from you :

• Present yourself and your origins.
  
• How long have you been part of Arcadia ? And do you have a recommendation if you are not matching the 5 years of Militia requirement ?
  
• What Arcadia represents for you and does for you ?
  
• Why do you want to become a counselor ?
  
• What do you plan to do once part of the council ? What are your projects?
  

By the end of the second month of the next year, the council will gather to speak about your presentations and elect the new councelors. 
But also elect the next minister, and the new Keeper of Arcadia.

For those who do not want to apply, but still have words of recommendations and reactions to share, you can send me a letter, or drop them in the mailbox in front of the Atrium.

First of all. Really sorry about the delay. IRL this week has hit me like a truck. Hopefully things will be better soon on my schedule. I hope you can all understand.
Secondly, while this could have been a good kind of event to hold ingame, there are SO many different timezones in our playerbase that it will be almost impossible to involve the whole population at once. So this thread is to be considered as "IC", as if it was spoken in the Central place of Arcadia. 

For those who want to apply, make your forum post like if you would do a RP post ingame. No REACTIONS for each other, just a singular post of your presentation and application.

He steps up to the stage, clearing his throat. His usual bravado simmers down just enough to let sincerity seep through.

"For those of you who don’t know me — though I reckon most of you do — I’m Quentin Roggs. Born and raised in a no-name mountain village that probably isn’t even marked on a map. Spent my early years in the muck, the cold, and the kind of quiet that drives a man half-mad if he ain't careful. When I left, I didn’t really have a home... not until I found Arcadia."

His gaze sweeps over the crowd, pausing briefly on familiar faces.

"I’ve been here for over ten years now, not only as a resident but also as part of the Militia."

His expression tightens, voice lowering just a touch.

"Arcadia's more than just a place to me. It's home. It's where I finally stopped feeling like some idiot just drifting through life. It's the first place where I wasn’t just ‘some guy’ — I was needed. Out there, in the cold, in the fights, in the quiet moments... this place gave me purpose. People here — you — gave me purpose."

He takes a breath, one that steadies him.

"I want to be a counselor because Arcadia deserves people who'll fight for it. And I don't mean in a clash of steel or in a rain of bullets, I mean with just mere plain words. I know how it feels to have nobody back you up, to have nobody speak up for you, and I will not let it happen here. Not now. Not ever."

His gaze hardens, and he stands just a little taller.

"If I’m given this chance, my focus will be on the people. I want to make sure that every voice — every farmer, every craftsman, every soldier — matters. No more whispers behind closed doors where decisions are made without those they affect most. I want to be the guy you can come to when something’s wrong — someone who’ll listen, who’ll act, and who sure as hell won’t back down when it counts."

His expression softens just a touch.

"Look... I’m not perfect. I’ve made mistakes. Hell, I’ll probably make a few more. But what I can promise is that I’ll put Arcadia first — always. Because this place? It’s home. And I’d burn myself out if that’s what it took to keep it safe and thriving."

He pauses, tapping his chest with two fingers.

"So if you’re willing to give me a shot, I’ll give you everything I’ve got — no half-measures. Just me, Quentin Roggs... the guy who’s always been a little too loud, a little too reckless — but never without a damn good reason."

His smirk returns, just barely.

"Thanks for listening... and, well, if I don’t get the job? I guess I’ll see you at the tavern anyway."

"I've been in Arcadia since I was eighteen.. Almost Eleven years now."
"I've been apart of the Militia since I received a letter from Dashar to join, titling myself the 'Bloodhound Hunter' though it's a mere joke."

"What Arcadia represents to me? A home I can come to everyday, relax and know this place will be here after a long day, to represent as my freedom. For what it does for me? Provides me comfort, shelter, protection, new opportunity to make friends to those who passthrough."

"I want to become a councilor because I want to be able to provide for my loved ones past my Psychology business within my home, to represent those who cannot fight to show them even those not physically strong can be there to help as much as the strong magi's can. I never ran from my problems, always faced them head on and that's what I'd do for my town, my people, our allies, ready to be there for others who need me."

"My plan for when I may join the council is to be able to ensure more peace between towns, as someone who has befriended many, someone who has a voice people listen to, helping our people through conflict will be my duty. I plan on hosting a festival to celebrate the councilors joining the rest, to celebrate a new generation and to applaud the older."
