Milly DM Strikes Back
#51
Key/Character: DestroyerOfWords / Samson Aertas
Which Event: Answers From The Past

Responsiveness (Were their narrations posted within a reasonable time-frame and were they quick to respond?): Considering Milly was juggling a handful of things at the same time, there was really hardly a wait even in spite of that.

Balance (How entertaining were the battles, and any obstacles/traps?): With the exception of the very first round, I'd say this was all pretty good (the first round is always gonna be rough after all). Fights were all pretty fun, and I didn't feel like I was getting homing spammed to death at all. Might've been a bit nicer with a few more puzzles or the likes, but I enjoyed everything that was there.

Storytelling (Did it feel like an adventure, did the content of the narrations meet your expectations?): I think this was pretty decent. The start was a bit mediocre, but I think once we got into the groove of things we were all having a good time. The narrations and the journey were all pretty enjoyable past that point all the way to the end.

Fairness (Were the punishments justified and earned, was the risk to reward ratio good?): The rewards here were all really great. I did kinda end up getting a bit more than I bargained in regards to rewards just off of a few unfortunate coincidences that occurred (nothing that was Milly's fault, and it was a positive for me lol). I enjoyed all of the fluff there, and the big reward that I wanted had a really funny twist attached to getting. The only complaint I'd have was that we didn't get told how injuries were working, so we didn't know when to heal, etc... But that was a minor gripe (which she acknowledged she'd forgotten before I even mentioned it afterwards), and we managed to smart our way around most of the fights anyway.

Overall: good/10

Responsiveness: Very quick! i had to eat my soup in like 2 minutes so i could battle the second boss

Balance: like mentioned by folian, the first round was very tough but after that it was pretty smooth for me

Storytelling: a calm start but quickly it turned into a chaotic trip, i respect milly allowing us to run from fights instead of forced battles - so props out to her! i prob missed some important ic lore but it was pretty interesting and amusing for me anyhow.

Fairness: i choose not to get anything at all, but from what i seen the rewards seem pretty cool for our group, considerating some of them make a call back to an old important character who gave birth to a lot of shit we have now, the perms weren't anything big either and considerating what was given - i'd say it was all too fair!!!

Overall: im giving a 9/10 because milly did a woopsie at the end (i will not say what but you know what it is)

Any other comments:  fix the beam

Which Event: The Door That Wakes to Darkness

Responsiveness (Were their narrations posted within a reasonable time-frame and were they quick to respond?): A little delay is always expected, and it's not like we were the most organized either. I had no issue whatsoever with the pacing, and thought it felt really good throughout.

Balance (How entertaining were the battles, and any obstacles/traps?): Once they got the feel for it after the first few attempts, I think it hit pretty fucking good. Letting us fuck around by giving the Robot orders at the end and making the fight easier through interaction always gets a massive +1 in my book.

Storytelling (Did it feel like an adventure, did the content of the narrations meet your expectations?): The one time I will say that "rocks fall, everyone (almost) dies" was good storytelling. Felt good and interactive, and again, despite us being a very disorganized group, held together cohesively and nicely.

Fairness (Were the punishments justified and earned, was the risk to reward ratio good?): Flavorful rewards and a very cool setup of items to do interesting things with. I, personally, think you should have given Israphel a -40 perm, because it would have been funny. Other than that, good.

Overall: I give it five [Image: 3cbd1a96b6564d593c7a726bcc3451df.png]'s out of five.

Responsiveness (Were their narrations posted within a reasonable time-frame and were they quick to respond?): Pacing was snappy, a few delays but nothing that was honestly too serious. People had to go AFK, etc.

Balance (How entertaining were the battles, and any obstacles/traps?): Balance was good! Milly was probably a bit Rusty but quickly found their groove. The fight with the Synthetic though? Easily my favorite EC fight I've had in my time playing Eternia

Storytelling (Did it feel like an adventure, did the content of the narrations meet your expectations?): I think Mouse summerized everything neatly in a nice little package, but I will say again, the Synthetic fight was awesome. I never had such a good laugh in my life.

Fairness (Were the punishments justified and earned, was the risk to reward ratio good?): Rewards were very nice and gave everyone something cool and set up future dev. I, however, do believe Zicoftryx should of had to roll for death on this COI event.

Character: EMMA, THE ALL-KNOWING

Event: the door that wakes to darkness

Responsiveness: the narrates came so quick that i felt a little guilty everyone had to wait on my sluggish emote speed at times. you also incorporated all of our responses pretty equally across the board, which is always a great green flag for any dm.

Balance: adaptable as ever, you know when to pull punches and when to dish them out to meet the respective risk of a given event. when a party gets a little in over their head, you provide reasonable avenues for lessening the difficulty to match said risk. it's a treat to watch.

Storytelling: you handled a rambunctious little group of roleplayers with great aplomb. in preparation for today's event i'd purchased non-prescription adderall from a shady figure who frequents the alley between my local grocer and the old folks home, but i didn't even need to take any to remain fully focused from beginning to end.

Fairness: i received a -40 on this event, but it was in exchange for what's probably the most interesting item i've ever received on an event. by this metric, i can safely say that both the punishments and rewards were justified and well thought out.

Overall: i can always recommend milly events
