Aquantio's Vigil
#1
[Image: image.png]

Close by the
Tree Of Song, Aquantio, a small garrison of the Shadowlands Border Watch has been stationed in a constructed tower.

It casts a silhouette over the budding mystical tree, and its inhabitants routinely patrol the area to fend off any particularly curious denizens of the Shadowlands. While gremlin-like lesser and even mega-class demons are routinely dealt with by the experienced Watch veterans, word has it anything larger (or humanoid) seeking to approach the Tree of Song with malintent may have to contend with the Knight-Sergeant Tandava herself. Nonetheless, even this small foray into the Shadowlands may prove precarious...

Following the death of Mestra, the former occupant and caretaker of the shadowlands outpost has disappeared.
Last seen fleeing deeper into the dark woods,
where without a doubt she will be EATEN ALIVE, boasts Cadet Billy.

Though Tandava had long retired, the structure still fell upon her to remain. Another mage will have to pick up the slack of defending the Watchtower against the nastier things living out there in the blighted forests in its long-standing vigil over the Tree of Song.

(A high-rank member of Goldlight may ticket for ownership of the Watchtower if they'd like. don't make me manually transfer this thing)

A few years go by, the outpost left empty.
Moss growing upon the old building, dust gathering on the windowsills.

Fwip, fwip, fwip!

A feather duster diligently put to work, a woman with pale purple hair, a kerchief wrapped around her mouth.
A faint look of determination, a touch of loneliness.

"Cadet Billy, you said? Can you bring the books out to dry in the sun? I'm afraid with leaving them indoors for so long... they might have soaked up too much moisture."

The aerodyne calls out to her helper, her hand silently clasping a single folded letter held within her jacket pocket.
A quiet sneeze as a plume of dust assaults her, and a soft mumble to herself.

"I'll take care of here, until you can finally come back home..."

[Cielia Meanderwing resumes the vigil over the Tree of Song.]
