☼ The Goldenleaf Library

Pulled to the brink, stretched thin and battered. Meranthe feels what is like an eternal, raging storm upon her lands in every corner. Though eternal it is not, for pockets of reprieve appears. A cool breeze beckons falling, crisp leaves as hues shift from summer's vibrant green to burnt orange and yellows. Autumn, an abundant season wrought with decay and harvest, its peaks and troughs existing in unison.

The Goldenleaf Library has its dust cleaned and crunchy leaves properly scattered about a particularly themed room within Nemea's Temple in Dal'Thala. Its care falling into the hands of Faeborne Sunsets over Moonlight, a faithful of Nemea and published author who wishes to advance the Realm of Delphina's literary collection.

"It is with a full heart that this library was entrusted to me. I wish to go above and beyond, not only restoring life to it, but to the temple entirely. Its western wing has been furnished, inviting all to come and experience the full breadth of seasons at their leisure. A collection of this nature is a collective effort, any donations would be greatly appreciated."

Opened to the public, dust pardoned, is a budding (very small... always growing) collection that always accepts donations. Moving forward, shelves are organized to accommodate for: Poetry, Fiction, Creative-Nonfiction/Encyclopedias, and Biographies. All are encouraged to share their dusty books or newly acquired books with Sunsets over Moonlight either as generous donation or for purchase.

The collection has been updated, most notably with a series of poems from the late Queen Raenesa Vanya titled 'Writings Adrift' found within the library's poetry section. Other smaller additions make its way into the non-fiction section, such as medical textbooks, guides to holy magic and an extensive encyclopedia on Meranthe's various flora.

☼ ☾

Additions are in the work, such a short collection of fiction stories, how-to guides for general use, and a collection of Delphinian history, primarily regarding its leadership in a manner more accurate than other published works before it. These can be expected within the coming years as the library expands. Donations and helping hands are always encouraged to those looking to break into the library field. If such arises, those interested are encouraged to seek out Sunsets over Moonlight.

Despite issues plaguing the library's shelves and unexplained disappearing books, in the coming weeks, shelves should see its most prominent series returning. Apologies from the Goldenleaf staff for any inconvenience...

Upcoming Events

In celebration of the eventual return of such series and the changing tides of Meranthe, a story time will be held at the library! Such an event is aimed towards the youth of Meranthe and will be held by the Goldenleaf's librarian, Sunsets over Moonlight, though all are welcome to attend. A variety of short stories written by the Faeborne will be read. Paper, crayons and paper will be available to engage with while the stories are being read.

There will be stories about the seasons, a friendship between a sunny day and rain clouds, and coping with loss- there is a clear Nemean theme woven into the upcoming tales and could act as a great introduction to the faith for young children, though the event itself focuses primarily on sharing fictional stories with the youth of Meranthe! It's a perfect place for parents of newly released children to send them for the afternoon.

A strange occurrence is quietly cleaned up within the temple. While usually peaceful following a snuff that sourced disappearing books, an incident stirred the little library. Part time attendants cleaned up a bit of vandalization to the fiction shelves. A particular old novel had its pages torn out, the attendants whisper.

Tidied without much noise or an announcement, those coming and going through Dal'Thala, specifically white haired young men, have been stopped and politely questioned. Potentially related to witchcraft as the two-hundred year old novel had nods to such on the stolen page.

The perpetrator unknown and perhaps at large does not stop the library's operations. New additions have been made, specifically to its fiction section with the aforementioned two-hundred year old novel written by a foreigner and the reintroduction of King Camino de Caewynn's flora literary work, followed by fiction short stories all available for leisure reading. Donations, as always, can be directed to the head Librarian Sunsets over Moonlight. At all points are they at hand to purchase literary works to make additions as well.

The arts have always been appreciated in Delphina. Its presence never wavering no matter the strength of tides that crash upon the well-lived realm. A particular Faeborne, oft known for holding various events, festivals, and otherwise large, joyous gatherings produces a wide reaching set of adverts, its wording and graphics quite simple. Sponsored by the Goldenleaf Library:

Delphina Writing Contest

Dor'alanor, all. It is with a full heart that I reveal something that has been on my mind for some time, several autumns, too many to count. Writing means the world to me and I know it means something to others who may not be able to make it their world as I. Perhaps this is a bit of encouragement to those who feel dwarfed before the pen. My proposal is thus:

30,000 coin, 5 cobalthine, 3 fairy powder for the winner of this writing contest

Do not feel intimidated by this prize pool. My intention is to attract as many eyes as possible. I would say to think of it almost like a raffle, but my guidelines will be particular along with my eye. I know many people, many people know me, and the winner may be someone who I will only ever truly meet through writing. Bring your whole heart, your whole story, your whole being and feel healed by what the page can offer you. The rules are simple, yet should be adhered to or face disqualification from the prize pool:

Guidelines

- You may submit any form of writing: fiction, creative non-fiction,
poetry

Fiction: A story about things that are not real
Creative Non-fiction: A story about things that are real (with creativity liberty)
Poetry: A form of literary known to express feelings in a very particular style and rhythm

- Maximum of 1,000 words. Do not submit more than this
- Minimum 100 words
- No multiple individual pages, please (contain them thoughtfully into a book)
- Visual design/aesthetic will be taken into consideration, good and poor
- You may write about any topic
- You must physically bring the work to Sunsets over Moonlight to enter the contest (a courier delivering it in the person's stead is fine)
- Avid Fel aligned individuals are disallowed entry
- Depending on submissions, the prizes may include a second and third place winner
- Have fun please!!!

If there are any questions, do not hesitate to get into contact with Luminary Sunsets over Moonlight by any means: letter, in-person, scheduled meetings, etc.

The deadline for entry is February 15th 11:59P EST and the winner will be announced in a timely fashion afterwards.

**Please reach out to me on Discord (memoryretrieval) if I happen to not be online and you have interest in making a submission.

The page is healing. The page is everything.

Leading up to the deadline of the writing contest, Luminary Sunsets over Moonlight will be hosting a writing workshop in Delphina's library. It is open to all, especially those who do not intend to enter the contest. Have snacks, chat, and write to your heart's content. Feedback and sharing with the Luminary is optional, but encouraged! Writers of all levels and interest should stop in for a cup of tea, snack or chat. It's a good time to submit any entries, too. How the small event will play out is as such: Arrive, grab paper and a pen, write.

The author and poet welcomes all (within reason)!

The years have passed since the greater stock of the Goldenleaf Library moved into an accessible, yet somewhat hidden backroom, leaving its main room as a workplace mostly. Public nonetheless where people are free to partake in the collection available. So word passes steadily once the hour draws especially late. Kettle going, herbal scent waving through the air. The library's workshop, realm's heir and Luminary and writer at heart sits on the golden grass in the room stricken in autumn.

"All feels uneasy in man's heart. What I do and know best is writing. Its healing unlike any other when given a guiding hand. If you wish to write with me, then my library is open and without judgement. We'll write and share with one another, feeling drawn closer to oneself and our peers. With tea, snacks and utensils available. I look forward to seeing who may very well be interested."

Every so often, a workshop or reading or event takes place within the confines of the Goldenleaf Library, a quaint space located within Nemea's Temple. Operated by Heir-Luminary Sunsets over Moonlight, between frequent events held by the dedicated staff, they personally take the lead on a few. In early summer, they coordinate a small competition of sorts for youth ages 11 to 16 years old. The competition is an on-site narrative building test, designed for aspiring or hobbyist writers to share their ideas or formulate new ones. Its theme open and unrestricted (yet remain cordial and respectful). Stories will be written and shared on the day of the workshop with specific parameters, so coming with something vaguely prepared in advance is encouraged, but not required as exercises will occur to jog, generate and execute ideas for plotlines, story and pacing.
