Spell DLC - Suggest!
#1
Once the sailboat and farm animals are sprited, work begins on the FATE Magic trees & some public spell additions visuals. With that in mind I thought it'd be good to have a thread to suggest public spell content for that future update, so here we are!

Spell Name: Allomancy
Magic Tree: Metal magic.
Mechanics: Toggle-Buff. While having ore in your inventory you are able to 'consume it' (quite literally) then burn it using your mana, acquiring an empowerment based on the ore type. Adamantite could reduce damage, Orichalcum could empower magic damage, the likes. Ore would need to be continually consumed to keep the buffs going, necessitating a hearty supply on hand at all times. Similarly, toxic metals can still be consumed, as the spell itself would degrade the metal in its entirety, preventing the toxins from being absorbed by the body.
Visuals: An aura effect depending on the ore consumed, I suppose.
Other: (optional)

Spell Name: Steam Dash
Magic Tree: Mist
Mechanics: A dashing attack that leaves a 3-tile trail of steam behind the user (The same steam AoE that Fog Bank leaves behind, which can trigger blindness with scald)
Visuals: In essence, it'll work like flameside from the fire tree.
Other: Another way to take advantage of the blindness from the Scald buff.

Spell Name: Melting Breath
Magic Tree: Mist
Mechanics: An attack that puts the user in place for duration similar to a beam. Releases steam forward that widens the further away it gets from the user.
Applies burn and inflicts mutliple damage ticks the longer the opponent stays inside.
Effectively, it'll be like a modified judgement cannon from holy. Shorter maximum ranged but wider the further away it is from the user.
Something like this:
OOOXXXOO

OXXXXXOO
UXXXXXOO
OXXXXXOO
OOOXXXOO

U- The user.
O- The unaffected space.
X- The were where the spell lands relative to the user when it is casted eastwards.
Visuals: A spreading steam that widens
Other: Steam needs either a master or an intermediate, and it could use some damaging moves that you add in on any build but "all water for Scald". That could be the move for both potentially.

Mist honestly could use some new spells. I tend to forget the tree even exist, and when I do remember it? I actually remember the name wrong and think it is named the "steam" tree!

Spell Name: Flame Pack ?
Magic Tree: Fire
Mechanics: Three wolves that can be shot out at the target one at a time, leaving a trail of fire in their wake. If the wolf touches the target they cause slow and burn effect? When the wolfs aren't used it's like a flaming circle around the user causing damage to the opponent that is too close to the user. Of course a time limitation before it disappears.
Visuals: (you could link reference images)
Other: Wolf or Large cat?

Spell Name: Crystalline Orbit
Magic Tree: Crystal
Mechanics: Forms several crystal-shaped projectiles that orbit closely around the caster for a set period of time (5 seconds, maybe?), deal damage to anyone they hit, and block skillshots that collide with them. The crystals break on impact.

Spell Name: Mercurial Reflection
Magic Tree: Metal
Mechanics: Flare with liquid mercury, absorbing 30% of the damage you take and bursting after 3 seconds in a close range AOE.
Visuals: Reuse the shield icon with a recolor of shiny metal, then a shockwave-like burst.

Spell Name:Exoskeleton
Magic Tree:Bone
Mechanics:Aura. +DR and +POW. Passively grants regenerating shield that 'builds up' with each tick. So it starts weak but gets stronger the longer it builds from the ticks giving an amount of shield.
Other:Auras are neat and bone didn't have one so here's one. There is more than one aura that grants passive heals so I thought it'd be interesting for a shield version of that.

I'm not exactly an artist or anything, so I know this looks kinda terrible, but I thought I'd try to make a concept for what that aura could look like, 'cause it sounds really cool -

Visuals: An aura effect with a metallic tint, taking on the hue of whichever ores were consumed in the process. Raw, molten metal bubbles up from the caster's feet and dissipates into the air above them.

Spell Name: Prometheus
Magic Tree: Plasma
Mechanics: Summon a massive ball of Plasmic energy, creating it at the center of the RPB to unleash a blistering heat that inflicts a rapid burn tick to self and enemies. (Self is .25 damage per tick, enemies is 2 damage per tick). Sparkbomb tick speeds, affects the whole RPB, Master spell, similar to Volcano which it creates small aoes that create a gas aoe that applies 10% DR whilst inside of it to foes.

Other: Yes its is I MUTES HAHAHAHAH
