When it comes to ideals, some people would do anything.  Some would die, some would live but in the end those ideals still would pass on the future generations for better or worst.

What matters here is creating a future. Where peace can exist, truly.

When it comes to rulership of the place. One person seems to be overseeing every actions to certain degree while there is a council responsible for certain aspects of the faction.

2093 AC

The years have passed in relative quiet within the hills that cradle the Iris Association. It has cultivated a slow trickle of refugees and intrepid researchers, and those who followed along its founding have grown roots. The settlement now stands as a burgeoning village in its own right.

The Iris Association's publicly stated concerns are twofold: the alleviation of suffering through rehabilitation, shelter, and possible employment, and to seek further understanding of the sciences- primarily life and magitech.

Asylum seekers and upstart scholars lacking proper facilities or backing are always a welcome sight. The same goes for visitors, students from abroad, and volunteers as long as they’re willing to leave any hostility related to conflicts (past, present, and future) at the border.

- Construction of an observatory, expanded lab, additional public housing and merchant stalls are currently underway.

- Those interested in learning or teaching medicine, biology, and zoology are encouraged to seek the expansion of their horizons with the Association, biomagi in particular are heavily sought after.

- There’s an open call for donations of creatures capable of wielding potent magics as well as rarer specimens of mundane fauna. Canids are of greater interest.

- Engineers and earth magi for a project involving the creation of an underwater channel/observatory using the nearby lake. ("Yes I know we're getting one for the sky, but we need one for the water.")

- The Association offers its holdings as a neutral ground for peace talks and prisoner exchanges between belligerent nations. Those who haven’t received a visit regarding this matter can expect one soon.

Those with an interest in the above, or the Association in general are encouraged to contact Director Asa or Subdirector Kagumi

Quote:"OUR CITY! OUR WORLD!"

The resounding chant echoed across the frosted expanse of Meranthe, marking Aegis's overwhelming victory in defending their homeland; several of Skarnfel's commanders slain as the masses of the Ten's Citadel erupted into celebrations. Although in its aftermath, amid the feasts of triumph, preparations and work commenced without delay, no moments of quiet allowed to linger.

Programs undertaken, guiding and honing of the young warriors, all while the forces bolster, mobilizing under the leadership of the two Exarchs; for the battles were far from over, and their crusade unrelenting.

"We fight; that is how we win, and that is how we die."

  • Following the defense, the decapitated body of the Felfyraxes' Supreme, Shui Avintess, could be seen strung up on the ruins of Gilded Spire; a message to those of Fel, a warning of the fate awaiting them.
  • Within days, the Elysium Training Program was launched, drawing crowds eager to enroll; to be honed into the future of Meranthe, into warriors who would aid the Citadel and its allies in battles to come. All are still welcome to join
  • The forces of Aegis begin to ready, strengthening and mobilizing as the war to eradicate the Skarnfel is declared, prepared to press on with their crusade southward.
  • Under the stewardship of the Pantheon's priestess, Tristinia Djulkorren, the temple of Ualdir opens its doors to all, housing the tablet carrying a message from the War God himself. Words of a grand forge's completion also linger in the air.
  • Plans in motion to potentially expand the city even further, encompassing the establishment of more such places of worship for the Pantheon.

2093 AC

Several years in the aftermath, the sudden disappearance of Aphros heralds a resurfacing in a form distinguished, yet familiar, to its antecessor. A stronghold tucked away in the forest density of central Meranthe, serving as a discrete exclave to the far more powerful state that underpins its foundation.

The milling of magi abounds in its busy courtyard amidst the gamut of colorful crystal formations it was built upon, while the pious that once left their homes in caravans slowly find their way back home to construct small communities among the surrounding trees. More rumors circulate of citizenship and passage granted to a realm much greater than what's presented on the surface.

But those are, naturally, just rumors.

In a space so recondite and confined, where Faceless stalk in almost every corner, secrets encounter as much difficulty in their escape as they do in their ingression.

◑ The Bastion continues to grow in numbers and in its particular actors, experiencing the reformation and resurgence in vitality it has desperately wanted for decades. Owing to his diligent efforts in making that growth a reality, Lyco Corbin has been instated as the de facto Commander. Under his stern leadership, more recruits and aspiring soldiers of the faith continue to fill in the Bastion's burgeoning ranks.

◑ Among other promotions, Ezra has been elevated to the status of Astra Captain under his Commander, tasked with the recruitment and management of all Astra Knights and Squires. He likewise reaches out to all willing patrons of Meranthe for donations towards the development of further infrastructure for the incipient settlement.

◑ As major promotions rise to the stage, another is set in the works. The vacant post of Umbral Captain is soon to be decided through the old tradition of trial by combat, with more trials to be arranged for the future generation of knights.
.
◑ Those who desire to be neither of the Astra or Umbra, but desire to serve Aphros and the pursuit of witch-hunting, are encouraged to join the Order of the Silver Chalice, an inquisitional covenant dedicated to the elimination of witchcraft and all ruinous powers that seek to destroy humanity.

◑ While it is no major secret, the mutant demon Lok disappeared shortly after being captured by Bastion forces. Conspiracy and uncertainty surrounds the event, but to no real confirmation.

With death comes rebirth
With rebirth comes a new beginning
With a new beginning comes new changes
And then, a new ending. A new death.
The cycle repeats

2095

Following a very destructive event, one that caused a very noticeable rumble around the Shadowlands and was of course felt nearby, anyone would find it very hard to not notice that Skarnfel was currently covered in a rather deadly looking fog. The cause of this? Well it was no secret, at least according to those that bore witness. A new Imperfect was born. One that was previously The Honey Badger, then Mettadora, has ascended to the level that only three prior had reached. In doing so, her ascension caused the destruction of her own home of Skarnfel, reducing the settlement to nothing but a ruined town riddled with death.

Though this was not done lightly and without reason. The Beast of Fate was said to have saw something...and simply chose to act, to wrest the strings and to pluck at each thread to see which played the strongest note. And now...the final orders were given.

  • All citizens of Skarnfel were to evacuate before the destruction began save for those that were meant to be present. They were then given instruction on where to go next. Where that might be? It was for them to know.
  • Any demon that has come to prowl as of recently are to seek out Mettadora. If they lack a direction as to where to find her, they were simply told to let fate guide them, and they will not be led astray.
  • Witches, necromancers, and those that followed the Beast of Fate were to so the same as wayward demons. However...since they can read and write, a letter also works.
  • Finally, for the enemies that wished to kick down the doors and 'eradicate fel kind', they will be met by a small force on the field of battle. For if it was a fight they sought, a fight they shall receive. The Beast does not run, the beast does not cower. There is much to do after all, and little time to do it.

-2097-

Following the successful defense of Fel Garden against the likes of Aphros, the island has now become a peaceful place yet again. Free for the mortals that wish to rest upon it, even the fel if they so choose. However, now that such an even has passed, more life has come to it as an event will soon take place.

  • The Imperfect Mettadora has had her minions and non-magi slaves working around the clock to build something below the island. What that something is? It is a mystery, yet for those that were sneaking around they'd see in-between her orders she would be smiling. Perhaps not a good sign in the slightest.
  • Above, even more imps and non-magi slaves are decorating but in a different way. There are flowers, pews, and streamers. From what anyone can tell, there looks to be preparations for a wedding.

2097AC
A fortress on the edge of the shadowlands.
Something built anew, reborn from the ashes.
A memorial to the fallen, and a bastion to honor their sacrifice.

After many years of preparation and rumours, along with several months of silent work, missives are sent out from the vigilant keep on the edge, heralding the opening of the castle-village to the people of Meranthe, be it visitor, merchant, diplomat, volunteer or resident.

The Stronghold of Martyrs´ Vigil, named and built to honor the fallen of The Great Crusade, and to ensure that another incursion from beyond the Shadowlands will not easily make its way to the rest of the Lands without a fight.

  • The Castle-Village of Martyrs´ Vigil, also referred to simply as "The Vigil", is under the control and administration of The Goldlight Order, and thus, the laws of the land have been brought forth, by The Office of the Knight-Commander.
  • The Occult Arts, and their active casting, are prohibited within The Vigil beyond an "educational" and "disciplined" use, outside of usage in service of The Order and its cause, and it is to be treated as the destructive tool that it is.
Occultists themselves are not outright banned from entry, simply reminded to keep their magic under control.

  • To prepare for the arrival of new residents, with the limited amount of restored residences, the opening of a local inn has been arranged by The Order, to accomodate new arrivals.
To be managed and maintained by the one and only Malibu, who is to be contacted for rooms. Those interested in being employed for the inn should also contact them.

  • With the unveiling of the village settlement to the public eye, several social events and contests are being considered to draw attention and promote diplomacy, as well an eventual sermon of some sort and an oath-taking ceremony for all new members of The Order.
    To those interested, stay tuned.

  • A recent signing of a Trade Agreement has seen an increase of vessels bearing the colours of the Kingdom of Fortune making their way to the coast of Old Aphros, unloading shipments of islander goods before loading new cargo, at frequent intervals across the months.
  • To independent contractors and self-proclaimed "adventurers", a work "bounty board" will be unveiled to the public in time, to pay for the acquisition of specific resources.
  • And with the conclusion of The Order´s first announcement for the settlement, it is finished with a reminder that volunteers are always welcomed for its many wings, combatant or not.
Healers, Artificers, Smiths, Masons, Inventors, Painters, Architects and Tailors especially are being sought out for a full docket of projects, in this unified effort.

For Duty and Loyalty are the greatest gifts that one can give.
