They're all drawn to it eventually. Knowledge. For ambition or power's sake, they always seek it for a means.

A hunter of demons is approached following the establishment of the Demon hunters. An offer provided by a stranger in old rags and with skins of the local animals of the forests. The young child hunter is given information, a secret to the knowledge they seek to deal with the threat of demons and those willing to draw the creatures out from Helheim.

A means to create and close such portals, schisms and rifts to the realms beyond.

The child is offered this knowledge in exchange for a simple job. Claim the Liber Transvectio itself, the text containing such information, and bring it back to the strange old man from the Fortress of secrets. A fort believed to be standing upon the edge of the mortal realm and that of the void itself. For a naive child , this seemed a perfect opportunity.

But such strange deals from strangers are rarely known to end well.
