I come here freshly awoken, my small reptilllian minf struggling with cohesion after a sleepless night of tossing and turning. My opinion raw, my thoughts scattered and hazed....

Only Cosmic, Holy, Occult and Shadow should be tome related due to the IC behind them. Due to their heavy lore implications.

I come to you raw and tired. My eyes swollen from pain and bloodshot from my inability to sleep as of late.

I am repeating myself, but...

I feel dread, thinking that I must apply for most magics on a fresh faced char.
I feel defeated.

It feels tedious and tiring, and I don’t think i will have the energy to app again for new tomes once my current character ia finished.

I also feel like it isn’t all that fun for the administration to sift through so many tome applications

I have offered people mentorship, yet they only want dev foe the tome.

I hope this raw, sleep deprived and unfiltered opinion makes sense. Farewell.

I’d like to be able to learn from a tome without rushing to someone to mentor / ask them to rp with me to dev a certain thing tbh.

I think that Advanced/Specialised trees of basic elemental trees shouldn't appear in tome shops, but others that aren't branched off of basic trees already like illusion or gravity or energy should appear in the shops.

I agree with this (I'm in the minority tho lol..). There's not much happening in E3 right now in my opinion, most stuff for younger characters especially has been devving advanced and specializations, at least for me personally and those I've rped with. It also wouldn't make such sense from an rp pov. I feel like the tome app feature fleshed out some characters to an extent, at least their relation to their magic. But, I can see how constant apps will take a toll on admins so, I agree with what Jash suggested also.

app for intermediate tomes of certain trees, as to my knowledge, some trees already have no intermediates in their spellbooks. (i.e. lightning)

it gets extremely stale having to app for everything that exists within the game and it becomes tedious, like i cant grow my character without someone looking over my shoulder and deeming it in a way they seem fit.

i'm fine with mythic/exalted/masters existing, but, please make it an intermediate tome for the tree that you app for over intermediates exclusively. i dont have enough rpp to buy more than 1 intermediate anyways, and im 200 rpl

How about keeping the current system of being able to apply for one, but adding an alternative method through crafting or something for those who'd rather run around getting resources than forcing dev?

Alchemy kind of sucks compared to Artificer so maybe put it in there.

Or let people who have the magic craft the tomes and sell them.

The only problem I see with that is that they're not really IC items at the moment, so you wouldn't be able to arrest someone for having an Occult tome on them or something...

I like this idea Something about combining their potion ingredients with an empty orb shell.

Try not to think about it. It’s disheartening to get denied, but just remember, there’s others in the same boat as you. They’re going through the same things. Try to avoid thinking about it, each time they deny an app, you put in two more. If your app is taking forever (mine is coming up on it’s 3rd week of no check) kill them with kindness. Don’t ask about it, and just play the game. It’ll get looked at eventually. Complaining only makes it worse, and the less you think about something, the faster it’ll come.

I also agree- as I've said before..

The apping process seems to be tedious for both sides and I believe that it'd be easier on everyone if the tomes(save for light, shadow, cosmic, and occult) were opened.

EDIT!:

I'd like to fix this too....considering the fact that some tomes have more popularity than others, it also makes it strange for things like light to be shoe-horned in such a manner. If anything, you could make it to where you can only access the tomes if you're a part of that guild....Such as the Order or the Church rather than simply having it available to the populace.

The same could be said for the witches and their occultism. Lock it behind a guild based thing.

-make all the tomes except for the ones Chance identified as being exceptions
-make specialisations app required, and encourage mentoring as a method of entering the aforementioned specialised trees
