To The Dreadwoods
#1
[Image: 0Amz6VZ.png]

Multiple copies of a letter of warning find themselves to the most well-known denizens of the Dreadwoods.

Quote:Return to us our youngest of dragons, and the body of your own kind will be returned as well.
Should these demands not be met, the Ebonblooded will see to it that Alzyz Vartuul is taken back by force
and the corpse in our possession will instead be hung naked near the path which leads up and down Mount
Tarian - to serve as a reminder to all of our enemies what'll be done to them, too, one day. You pathetic creatures
and outcasts won't ever live to freely roam from the woods you hide within, regardless of whether our terms
are accepted or not, but... As long as our own is returned, you'll be given a bit more time to stare at the
outside world from behind the cracks of your hideaway.

On some of the papers that were sent to the denizens of the Dreadwoods, a few scribbles were tacked on in incredibly messy handwriting with what looked sort of like crayons…

A single letter is sent, it's cover colored in ashen dark, the wax seal of four eyed raven... Such message was delivered by a raven-shaped bird, made out of Shadow magic.

Quote:
While you read this letter, your youngest dragon have perished, all because of your own insolent foolishness. You killed one of our own, and then use their body as a leverage? Saying that you will attack us eitherway? Why would I listen to your petty threats? Though, I shall give you credit. Even unto his death, he had passed down the beliefs of your Goddess... Vengeance. Painfully ironic end, isn't it? I will make sure to make GREAT use of his body, just as how you make use of the bodies of our own enemies.

Oddly enough, that umbral summoned bird would soon find it's way back the Vanreth. Yet it seemed to cough out in agony, it's eyes burning now with a lilac flame. Such a flame was eating the creature from the inside out , the dark magic seeming to puppet the bird into turning those scorched irises to the Witch to deliver a message.

From it's tormented form, a distorted voice would echo forth- hijacking the vocal cords of the fowl for it's own purposes.

Quote:
"Rejoice, heathen, for this is the final act of kindness you will receive for what little time remains in your pitiful existence.  I shall teach you how you truly brought forth your very own ruination. You have slain a whelp of Naysien's Brood, one who was just beginning to properly grow into the wings he was blessed with. A whelp that I was fond of and was hopeful to watch soar to the skies. Whenever one of Naysien's blood, one of her Draconic Children, was slain by the hubris of men, do you know what happened?

She did not relent in her path of slaughter and destruction until enough blood flowed to sate her desire of Vengeance. Say your goodbyes to your fellow heretics. These next few years shall be your last.
We will enjoy feeding you to Her wyrms."

After it's message was delivered, the 'messenger' was utterly consumed by those lilac flames. Flames that seemed to leave a horrible chill and frost in the area. Flames that smelled of an ill omen, of Death.

A single letter finds itself to Cynthia Vanreth. The ebon seal of a dragon holds it shut.

Quote:Every slaughter has humble beginnings...

You monsters feared the potential of a child who'd only just begun to spread their wings,
so you killed them and called it revenge. It shows how pathetic you and your people are.
It also shows how foolish you all are for daring to further provoke us of Naysien's Coat.
What you've done is ask for death, and we'll give it to you. We'll raze your woods to the ground
and give everyone within it the slowest deaths imaginable before being sacrificed to Her.
You'll wish that you'd continued to keep yourselves hidden, if only for a bit more...
The Ebonblooded are coming.

But there's more..

An announcement from Alzyz's eldest brother, Lexius Vartuul.

Quote:
The death of my kin will not go unanswered by myself. The Ebonblooded march upon your people, but I march upon you Cynthia Vanreth. There is no place to run, no place to hide. When you see my wings cast the shade of Naysien upon you, you will know you are standing moments before your demise.
You have made a grievous mistake. I am coming for vengeance, so that my brother's soul can rest well among dragons.
I will not cease my efforts until I see you in cold blood.

The announcement, declaration of the Vartuul is responded to.

Clearly, unexpected answer too.

Quote:
Dear Lexius, seeing your pain, seeing your anger brings a smile on my face. Clearly, one child wasn't enough, was it? Your antics and seething anger amuses me, seeing how far can you take your hatred, it's such a laughter to me, you made my day- no, I think my year. And for that I think I'll do you a small favor, come forth... I invite you, to a small reunion with your brother, I hope you will be very happy to see him. Wouldn't he? Come, come... See him, I will enjoy watching your struggles.

As much as all of you, Knowledge is where we find reason, but should you start poking in the bear's den. I will show you the true roots of this Forest, of it's Ancestors. And it's power when one steps on it's land.

... It seems, he would be meeting his brother, one last time.
