Upon assuming the throne at her coronation, the new Queen of Osrona, Eisele rei Petrakis, made a rather notable change to Osrona's military. Henceforth the Order of the Second Dawn will be abolished, and in its place the Order of the First Light has been restored. In addition, the knights were all made to swear a new vow, one which directly binds them in service to the Petrakis dynasty.
The Second Dawn had been originally established after the restoration of Osrona, under the government of the Archmagi. With the Petrakis monarchy restored, a return to its roots is in order.
Furthermore, the rank of 'cadet' has been abolished as well, with the rank of 'squire' replacing it. A squire must swear service to a chosen knight, who will then serve as their mentor and guide, someone who will teach them what it means to be a knight of the First Light. There is no time limit, and after a squire proves themselves worthy their knight will request a knighting ceremony from a Radiant Knight or the Lightbringer.
A knight may have a maximum of three squires at any one time.
Following this announcement, another decree was given, that from this point forth the Stellus and Lightbringer will have full judicial power. Able to process prisoners, pass judgement, and conduct trials should it be required. They will only ever need the monarch's authorization for execution, but are free to process prisoners at their leisure.
Many more reforms are in the works, and this is but one of many.
