Character: Sunsets over Moonlight
Which Event: Quest for Penance
I had no idea what to expect from a Rob event. I've heard good things, but didn't know how he'd handle such a loose, strange concept from Dandeli, but it was especially pleasant. I joined late and somehow was the most accounted for despite being the only American that didn't pass out and everyone else was British. 7p EST start time. I do appreciate it immensely. Now for my thoughts:
Responsiveness: Very quick. We went well into the bird chirps in the Queen's Land, but he kept such a nice pace throughout. He was attentive to bits and bobs we included in our own roleplays, weaving the story as it went.
Balance: Puzzle and interaction based opposed to combat. I personally dislike the three-boss-beat-em-up strat for far heavier, dangerous events, and just in general. SoM was turned to a lot for the puzzles which made sense on an IC level. I enjoyed them quite a bit, though! Very thematic for Delphinan characters in a Delphinan forest.
Storytelling: This could have gone a billion ways and the ways it went in felt grounded in the overall essence of Delphina. Nothing felt particularly out of place and deeper bits of history expanded on. A forest made a little richer, a Faeborne a little different than the rest, an unlikely forest dweller who defied expectation. My favorite part, given that the entire event revolved around story opposed to more action orientated bits. Again, a favored aspect of events that sometimes yield in favor of orientating some action... I liked it!
Fairness: Apple acquired.
