i suggest that boars spawn randomly around the map rather than in groups in select places

not sorry

I just really need to make as much leather armor as I possibly can.

The grind never ends.

I think it's kinda ridiculous personally. I'm seeing gangs of people 4-5 strong just sitting in a group of mob spawns farming them for drops and getting RPP for it too. Feels REALLY gamey in a way that I don't like at all.

100% remove and fast. Unless you can code in parameters.

The real move is to add an elite mob near the regular mobs so people who farm get KOed and robbed. Boarstein the Unbored when?

I keep saying we need another boar world boss. Didn't we have something like that in spires?

I'll play devil's advocate here and say that even though I find the XP gains from killing level 1 (or 20 now) boars silly, I think that giving people an incentive to farm for items from mobs beyond just getting the equipment they need is healthy for the game.

No longer do you think 'Oh, Christ, I need to farm five hundred gazillion daemons for crystals, I'm going to miss out on so much roleplay and XP while I do this'.
Instead, you think 'Oh, Christ, I need to farm five hundred gazillion daemons for crystals, but at least I'm getting a little XP for doing this when I could have been roleplaying.' This naturally leads to the possibility of you sticking around to get a surplus of the crystals - or whatever item you might be farming - and thus stimulates the game's economy because you can then sell those crystals on or gift them to your settlement's alchemist and so on.

This isn't even mentioning the amount of people who will be at spawns - which have become a natural congregation point - roleplaying and building interactions, even if there's a horrible habit of these interactions becoming banal 'these my boars, i kill u' scenes that nonetheless help to build conflict in the future.

Making the monsters level 20 is a good step forward, but as player power gets higher and higher your average farm is still going to be chugging along strong and undeterred. A hard XP limit isn't a good idea, in my opinion, because it'll just lead to people being like 'Damn, guess I have to farm 150 boars to have truly efficient XP gains today.' Truth be told, I'm not sure what the solution is.

I have to disagree here pretty hard. It takes almost no effort to farm something like the boars, or the lupins. I've literally seen people with Tempest aoe, afk, farming them. 1 experience per mob doesn't sound like much, but that's actually a pretty hefty amount of experience per minute. Do it for an hour and you'll see notable jumps. Very silly.

Have you considered ganking them

In all seriousness, I know how much the XP can add up, especially if you use Devouring Winds, and I agree that it's a problem. I'm just not sure how to fix it without adding a hard cap. I might be wrong, and a hard cap might be a good idea - it'll definitely take experimentation to figure out what works.

Just make farming afk with devouring winds bannable.

The big afk sign is a pretty big give-away.
