Spell Balance Suggestions
after learning that sound aoe ticks once...

sound isnt that horrible -- avoid cascade, cleanse the slows, push them back if cacophony, fight in the aoe after ticking or use a homing zzz

suggestion: Make Timeskip in Time more appealing; it doesnt feel all that good.

Lower the CD of Scattering Lights, 35s is way too high when the spell itself is very weird and can sometimes not do anything in a fight.

And maybe change its code to be more like rings of malice, to form around the person rather than fly in from out of nowhere...

Pretty much.

However add Illusion Air Gravity just to name a few sound/x and that's why people scream.

I did not even dip air or gravity. Just sound/illusion.
But its not unbeatable. It's a solid tree.


So how about we now buff Riptide.

If by AoE confusion you mean Cacophone, just checked to be certain.  Seems that it does inflict confusion, though curiosly enough it happens seldomly. Only once every couple of ticks for around a second I believe? Most of the time the person was able to walk towards me without much issue, only making a couple steps to the other side once every couple of minutes.

That said:
"A knock back with insane damage" That's shockwave. Wind, not sound.
"Something op as *** like Tornado". Wind.

I did say that wind has the better anti-melee abilities, if you look at wind and sound seperately.

Edit: Was told cacophone's confusion is %chance based per tick, which fits the results I had while testing it. Not sure what the %chance is though.
Wind is something all Sound users get access to, it's unfair not to put that into consideration when they synergize insanely with each other. They get two homing slows, combos like cacophony + twister and slow + tornado. They have melodic that heals a lot. The two trees gives options at range and upclose for kite mages. If a melee gets close to you? Two of the highest damaging burst spells in the game can be used, Cascade and Shockwave. If the enemy is far away? You have slow multiple slows at your disposal to gap close along with a speed boost that deals damage.

The only real thing lacking from their kit is DR, which is somewhat supplemented by conjurer.

Everything from the wind tree has been buffed, which is understandable given the horrible state it was at, at launch. But too many changes were made before any prominent wind mages came. Teodor is an example of how strong lightning was at the end of launch. We never got the chance to see a strong sound mage until after TS.

Well it's kind of what Prestige mentioned:

Crystal was pretty good, but no one really went for it until Teraphim. Maybe similar happened with sound?

When I picked Sound/Illusion, most just said: won't work. So, being stubborn, I used it. Now I love it.

I mean no one likes, that I know off, Sound Burst. But I use it extensively. And it's turned out to be a very good move.

Sometimes we have to explore and find new spells and builds.

Shut up, sound aoe doesn't only tick once. Mal you're stupid. Sorry it's really late I'm really tired and grumpy you know I love you, haha thanks good bye <3 but it really doesn't only tick once, please nerf this shit. Also, I was under the impressionn that after twister got its damage insanely buffed, it would only be allowed to tick once. I was wrong but at least they nerfed the damage, cd and Dr.. it's definitely still not a problem, right? haha..

For clarification:
Sound Cacophone is the sound AoE that is around the caster, and has multiple ticks.

Sound Relapse is the sound AoE that stays put and heals the caster inside of it, while only dealing one tick of damage at the initial cast.

Cacophony ticks numerous times, theres a reason I said push back.
The healing sound aoe that ticks once? Fight them in it.

I swear to baby jesus, this thread wasn't meant so people quote and constantly talk back and forth. Pretty sure it's purpose is a platform to be easily looked at, where they can see players suggestions.

Use rep system, stop clogging and ultimately ruining this threads ease to read. It's suggestions, if you have a different suggestion-- Post that too. Jeez.
