Petrakis

The Petrakis lineage are most known as the ruling family of Esshar, having led the country in both times of great stability and prosperity, as well as uncertainty. The amount of influence they've had over the centuries has varied, but they've always been a central part to the kingdom. While some members of the family have certainly been flawed, the strong blood of their ancestor, Mikhail, does bless the most promising of the Petrakis with keen eyesight and great magical potential, namely in the schools of the Stars and the flow of Time.

The Royal family of Esshar has a unique naming particle, marked with 'ras' until they take the Crown, in which they are granted the marker of 'rei'. The particle of 'ras' is shared between both those of the main line and branches, while 'rei' is also granted to the spouse of the Ruler.

• Mikhail Petrakis: The Progenitor, one of the most powerful Archmagi of the Mythical Age, the man who supposedly stared directly into the time vortex and survived.

Recent:

• Ariadne rei Petrakis II: She reigned for thirty years, and faced many challenges, such as the rise of the Syndicate and demonkind. She passed away from an illness at age sixty.
• Sennia ras Petrakis: She married an Astor, and had four children.
• Iordanis ras Petrakis: He joined the First Light, and rose to the rank of Radiant. He did not have any children.

• Aristidis rei Petrakis : Esshar's slow recovery was blamed on Aristidis, who was known to be inept and weak, failing to reclaim much of the territory that seceded the kingdom. He signed into the law that gave the First Light and the True Faith equal power to the Crown, forming a Triumvirate. He fathered four children. At age fourty five, he died in battle near the end of the war against the Empire of Barsburg.
• Lucius ras Petrakis: Lived a quiet, private life, mostly. He fathered two children.
• Caedicia ras Petrakis: A dedicated researcher. She had one child.
• Attius ras Petrakis : Attius was similar to his brother, though more self-concerned and careless. He married thrice, and fathered seven children.
• Alexander rei Petrakis : The eldest of King Arstisdis' children, Alexander assumed the crown at the age of 16. He was immediately thrust into war against Theria and then eventually Myllenoris. During the Siege of Osrona he slew High Lady Asta Hargrave himself and then attempted to destroy Aschea's crown, thereby driving the Teraphim to slaughter innocents still within the city. He took his people to one of the last villages still loyal to the Petrakis Crown and in his last acts died while attempting to siege Theria to wrest it from Demonic control and in battle against the Imperator of Osrona, Walter Docro. He married once to the Red Witch Nebula Elaide after she infiltrated Osrona. Succeeded by his three children, who are currently largely unknown. Named the Last King of Esshar due to his inability to save Osrona from Myllenoris Conquest
• Alice ras Petrakis : The pious and devout second child of King Arstisdis. Alice was known for her faith and her mild nature. During the onset of the war against Myllenoris, she went to Hessalia where she became the Crown's appointed Governor over the region.
• Odin ras Petrakis : The youngest of King Arstisdis' children, Prince Odin was known for his earnest recklessness as a boy. While he did much in the name of the Kingdom of Osrona, it was oft out of feeling, rather than thought. He was placed in an arranged marriage to the House Pelleaux heir as a political strategy, fathering three children with her; However- his heart was elsewhere, fathering a secret bastard child with his most loyal retainer. On a blind path of vengeance in the name of said retainer upon their death, he faced a sudden attack and died age 23.
