Eternia
The universe that the Kingdom of Esshar can be found. It is estimated to be roughly five thousand years old, though this number is up for debate as much of the recorded history prior to the First Age was lost in the divine wars. For a timeline of world events, though particularly pertaining to Esshar, see this page.

Planes
Eternia
Also known as the physical plane. It was during the recent era of the Age of Exploration where the world was explored and accurate maps were detailed. There are five continents in the known world, and the overall radius of the planet comes in at about 11,000km total (almost twice the size of Earth).
Visible in the sky at night is the lone moon, and in the day the sun, the star closest to Eternia. The countless stars and planets beyond that make up the Spirit Realm, which is an incorporeal dimension beyond the known physical scope of the world.
Purgatory
The entrance to the spirit world, and the place between life and death. Near-death experiences often involve a short peak into this plane, and it's described as a boundless, dimly lit area that has no walls or ceiling and likely stretches for miles. Distant stars surround the realm, and there's an inviting, alluring light at the end of the tunnel that urges spirits forward.
Spirit Realm
The place of the dead. The Spirit Realm is composed of multiple realms with the heart at the center, the world tree Yggdrasil, and the heavenly realm hovering above the many branches of the lifestream's flow. The stars, which are astral planes, can also be seen hovering within the boundless dimension. Spirits will eventually join with a star and be reincarnated into the living plane once more, or live indefinitely in one of the nine realms of the spirit world.
Continent of Aegis
The continent to the far east of the world, beginning with Esshar at its west. There are many countries to be found within the vast continent of Aegis.
The Kingdom of Esshar
The descendants of the Astyans, having arrived in Esshar following the desolation of their homeland as refugees. They were given land across the coast by the Magnolia, and their own independence to rule, and have long since flourished as one of the dominant powers within the continent. For more information, see the Esshar page.
The Republic of Magnolia
One of the few realms that have persisted over the millennia, separated east to Esshar by a collection of sandstone mountains. They are known for their advanced technology and their non-violent nature, though their kingdom is distinctly isolationist and allows neither visitors or migration. Some say Magnolians descend directly from an angel's direct influence rather than the firstborn of the old world.
Rhoynur
The people of Rhoynur are magically gifted hunters and raiders, who live for battle and the challenge of survival; they rarely stay in one place for long, moving on horseback and taking their camps with them. Just a few thousand of their people have been enough to tear through entire nations. They can be identified by their brilliant yellow eyes and strong, tall frames, but it varies from person to person. Their numbers are low, with a couple rarely able to produce more than a single child.
Sluthia
A country ruled by the dragonborn; shapeshifting dragons that can turn into humans. Many ancient dragons, children of the divine five and thousands of years old, live in this mountainous region to the day. Their buildings are made entirely of grey stone, with massive, open halls and towering ceiling heights. The Sluthians believe that the rule of men has proven to be a disaster, and the world should be heralded by the wizened dragons instead.
Atrellya
There is no single ruling government in Atrellya. It is one of the few nations still teeming with demonkind, and its climate, humid marshlands and dangerous jungles, makes thriving difficult. The seven great demon clans have thrived here for millennia.
The Empire of Aen
A powerful country that is the rival of Barsburg.
The Empire of Barsburg
The Empire of Barsburg is an expansionist military might present for centuries in the regions near Esshar. While it was for centuries a relatively consistent potential threat to the then-Essharan Empire, in the early 18th century Barsburg invaded Esshar, starting a brutal war that left large swathes of eastern Esshar - including the city of Achyon - occupied and the Essharan Empire on the brink of collapse until an end to the war was secured. The Empire continued to occasionally attack independent Essharan territories, culminating in the capture of Osrona in the 1750s. While the city was retaken in the decades following, the Empire still boasts a strong foothold in Esshar. Barsburg is known for its 'Progress over Morality' ideals, its secularism, and its impressive magitechnological advancements.

Shadow Lands
The size of a large continent on its own, the exact size and scope of the Shadow Lands is impossible to tell. This region is likely complete wilderness and is overrun with powerful magical beasts that are hostile to humans, making exploration extremely difficult. Rumored to contain wonders and miracles that might shake the very foundations of the world itself, but almost every expedition has led to mass death and disease. Only a handful of legendary explorers have gained anything of note from daring explorations into the heart of this continent. The Deviation Disease that fed on magic itself and wiped out thousands in the 1300s originated from the Shadow Lands, as did the country wide threat Beleoron, a primordial with lion-like features that rampaged in the 1500s. The Anomaly, otherwise known as Andromeda, originated from this region before beginning a quest to devour the strongest Essharan magi, and Eternia itself in the 1800s.
Continent of Britannia
City States of Valmasia
A land that had been shaped by its many conflicts. Once sealed off by great storm barriers of divine origin that intended to save it from exterior invasion, it soon proved that to be an act of irony. When the divine barriers waned a united Valmasia reigned down upon Britannia with a desire for war and conquest. Under the direction of the Lich king it laid siege to and conquered many civilizations in their wake. The turning point in this conflict however was their invasion force into Agartha. With Valmasia's grip on the continent having been lost as the colony was wiped out, it soon came under fire from all angles. Resistance within Britannia, along with Gehennan war parties and Shenghese influence soon saw the country invaded and taken over. In the subsequent years Valmasia was made to pay heavy war reparations.
The Protectorate of Uray
The Vassal state of Rancet
Tribes of Vanirhalla
Island of Apropriya
An island located at the very eastern edge of Britannia between the Agarthan sea. It is an accursed land with blood forests and terrible corruption. It is said to be the origin point of vampires. Whether there is any truth to that rumor is up to personal preference. Little is outwardly known about it.
