Chiron, also known as Starstone, is an extremely valuable and rare crystal that is believed to be the remains of a star's core. The commonly told story is that the star was destroyed before recorded history, splitting into many hundreds of meteors that then rained down on Esshar. This highly reactive material that collided with Eternia gradually crystalized, while giving off waves of intense magical energy that naturally attracted wildlife in the area, often mutating them through the centuries.

Despite the age of the crystal, Chiron is still warm to the touch and gives off a faint glow. It loses this once the magic of the gemstone has been harnessed, becoming an empty shell.
