The Order of the Silver Sun
#1

During the cruel and vexing period of the Witch Trials in Esshar's history, some stood above all others, A union endorsed by both the Church of the Celestials and Osrona’s Current Monarch would eventually evolve into what the Order of the First Light is today.

The union started to be known as the Silver Sun a group that single-handled annihilated the forces of darkness upon Esshar during their most terrifying times. At first, an Order of mostly well-trained Exorcists eventually branched out into highly trained militia whose sole purpose was the extermination of the occult.

It was said during the Era the coven of witches first drew their power from Helheim and demonic forces set upon the masses and began laying waste to the mortals of Esshar. Thus the Silver Sun tested a multitude of methods and experiments delving into the deepest recess of humanity to find the power to combat such evils.

And what they found changed the very course of an Esshar being encroached by evil. Rivhad Stelhart was the first to forge a contract between the Silver Order and a Warden of Joruhiem. As he contracted the warden as not only a hunter of evils and Nethradadic witchcraft being used he also took part in a ritual that forever changed the battle between light and darkness.

In an event that was known as the Silver Supper, Rivhad and the Orders 10 most prominent witch hunters, and Demon Slayers all partook in the consumption of the Wardens silver blood something the creature was at first reluctant to doing yet seeing the spread of Helheim's influence within the mortal realm the creature bound itself to Esshar's land and served the heads of the Order and those instilled with its blood for the next 1000 years until both Witchcraft and Demonic activity was eradicated.

Those who indulged within the blood of the Warden found themselves capable of retaining a few of the Warden's abilities capable of becoming entierly different types of magi. Although over time the bloodline was distilled and distorted and now only those who have a connection with Holy or Cosmic light can channel the small remnants of the Wardens blood.

Although this power is not given freely, Many who inherit power are likely to abuse it and thus the within the original contract trials are laid out that would determine if one was capable of awakening such strength only those who had the will to not only fight against Darkness but become a Beacon of Light for all to follow in the footsteps of.

And thus the three strongest of the Silver Sun became known as the Lightbringers, The most deeply connected and visibly endowed with the power of the Warden. With the powers given the warden was capable of passing down 5 of its powers to those who sought to gain them were named the 5 commandments

Most would awaken at least 2 but those who excelled or surpassed the flock were able to attain 4. The 5th, however, was reserved for those who had not only awakened all 4 powers but those who's abilities were not only proficient enough to become a Lightbringer but proved themselves capable of interacting with the lifestream and acting according to its will.

The 1st Commandment, Thou Shall see Truth.
  • The user is capable of seeing spirits and other forms of Spectres if trained well enough they can even sense the lifeforce in humans and animals. And distinct occultic signatures from normal ones. While this power fails in comparison to the Warden's Truth gaze it can quite easily pick up on wicked Magics.

The 2nd Commandment, Thou Shall be Repent.
  • Mostly used as a form of punishment the power of Repentance was used form seals and other variations of this magic. Some even went as far as to seal away large creatures and objects, and would often time take enormous amounts of mana.

The 3rd Commandment, Thou shall be Pacified
  • The power of Pacification was perhaps one of the most necessary ones to be developed during the age of Witches and Demons, While their curses and Hexes caused bouts of rage, death, and unending sin and slaughter the power of the Sanctuary nullifies such effects. And could even prevent them from happening if the ritual is performed prior.

The 4th Commandment, Thou shall Purify all creation
  • The power of purification was one already instilled within the Holy and Cosmic arts, To burn and purge out all corruption at its core, Yet with the Silver blood of the wardens, this strength grew even stronger. Those who wielded it were able to dispell any darkness within a person destroying the root of their chaos, Even going as far as to cleanse them by force leaving no such trace of their magics. Although oftentimes such things were never conducted Occultists were rarely given the luxury to start life anew and when they did a scant few survived the process.

The 5th Commandment, Thou Shall Pass Judgement.
  • Perhaps the most volatile of the commandments given its ability was not able to be deemed upon Evil but upon the living and the innocent as well. Anywho awakened it were immediately taken to be trained within the order and learned to fully realize their capabilities. Those who have such qualities can dictate to the lifestream willingly and pass judgment upon the foes they have defeated in battle. Once the ritual of judgment takes place it cannot be ended until a decision has been made and those who are deemed to act in defiance of the lifestream would see themselves burst into silver flames before their very eyes. The power of the Cosmos and holy light purging them of all sin. These silver flames are said to be pure lifeforce channeled by the Warden of the past. Dying in this manner is not only extremely painful but it comes with the added clarity that any who have been judged will have their Life essence extracted and would disband them from any dark forces most specifically those of Helheim. Sentencing them to burn within a star instead of serving their dark master.

Of all the commandments the Power of Judgment was misused the most, In the days of the Witch trials describing those who were witches from those who were not was not only a good way to get rid of one’s enemies but to eliminate any suspicious acts or threats. Because of this many were put to the stake and burned in the silver fire. Only half of which turned out to be true Witches.

Even in the modern era, the biggest threat to the Exorcist force is discerning who the actual witches are from the false ones. Eventually, those of the Silver Blood were assimilated into modern culture, The Silver Sun anointed by the Crown the right to become the main branch of the Military. A new order that did not have such a bloodied passed and the 5 Commandments disappeared within the recesses of time. And Esshar continued to grow into the nation it is today.

And with the return of the Wickedness of witchcraft in the current era, Those who shared ancestors blood with the Warden and the 10 soon feel the stir of their powers beginning to emerge.
