Respite

I'm not sure how I ended up here.


I've been through a lot.
Perhaps a lot more than people could ever imagine.
I lost my friends. My loved ones. My body is ravaged with scars...
But I always carried on.

I wanted to give up so many times.
I was tempted to abandon my homeland, to have an easier life.
I could've had it much better.
But I never turned my back on my people.

Did I do the right choice?

I can't say that I regret it...




Not when I embrace my family.

Not when I still have someone to live for.
And I'm not sure who to thank for it.

I did a lot of bad things.
I did plenty of mistakes.
It was a hard road...
And I think I'd like to rest now.

But I couldn't do it without you.
Yes, you.
The one who reads it.
You were watching me my entire life, weren't you?

Protecting me, guiding me. 
Comforting me, supporting me.

There's no way I was supposed to survive this far.
To have this ending.
It's a miracle.
You're a miracle.

And I'm thankful for that.




This tale began in Achyon.
And it ends there too.
I've returned home, free from the duties at last.
They'll handle it without me, I'm sure.

But even now, I realize there's still so much more to do.
So much more to work on.
So much more to live for...

Is it the end of my book?
Or am I going to do something else with my life now?
