The bulletin board at the Waystone Inn is often rife with opportunities for the ambitious and a new posting has begun to fill the common room with the chatter of excited artists. Ema Okabe, the proprietor of the traveler's rest, is endorsing the works of the poet and bartender Kasai Shukun who has released an early peek of the foreword from his new title Serene Sonnets alongside a unique proposition:
" To enable others to pursue and further the arts is one of the most noble goals one can undertake. As such we will include the best sonnets alongside the work to create exposure for artists that are struggling to find a publisher and have their works seen, reviewed, and cherished by the masses." - Kasai Shukun
These fliers are renewed swiftly as fledgling poets take them, but also aspiring thespians enticed by the note at the bottom. The book will be released alongside the upcoming theatrical play, The Mask of Madness a dramatic comedy which will detail the life of Dun Task as well as the rise and fall of Theria into bloody civil war.

Those who are intrigued by either offer are encouraged to speak with Kasai Shukun or their manager Ema Okabe both of which have residence at the Waystone Inn which will also serve as the location for the sale of the Sonnet as well as the premier of the upcoming play. A plaque will be installed upon the Waystone highlighting and memorializing the philanthropic patrons of the arts who contribute in funding further productions.
Foreword: An Introduction to The Budding Bard
Not all magic in Esshar manifests as the spells woven by magi, but even the mundane arts hold a furtive power to be just as enchanting. Connecting to common emotions that binds us all and stirring the soul and mind is arguably just as mighty for the written word too holds the power to sway masses, start or end conflict, and ultimately immortalize the creator in the annals of history. This short guide serves to aide aspiring poets in crafting their own sonnets that can withstand the passage of time and resonate for generations long after they leave this world behind.

Sonnet Characteristics
Fourteen lines: All sonnets have fourteen lines which can be easily broken down into four sections termed quatrains.
Rhyme scheme: The rhyme scheme of a proper sonnet is strictly ABAB / CDCD / EFEF / GG. It is important to take note of the four distinct sections they are comprised of.
Iambic Pentameter: Sonnets are written in iambic pentameter, a poetic meter with 10 beats per line made up of alternating unstressed and stressed syllables. They are designed to match the average heartbeat which lends a natural pace to the sonnet.
Understanding Quatrains
Sonnets consist of four sections called quatrains. The first three quatrains contain four lines each and use an alternating rhyme scheme. The final quatrain consists of just two lines, which both rhyme. Each quatrain provides not only structure and variation to the rhyme but also creates the thematic structure as follows:
First quatrain: This should establish the subject of the sonnet. Number of lines: four with the rhyme scheme: ABAB
Second quatrain: This should develop the sonnet's theme. Number of lines: four with the rhyme scheme: CDCD
Third quatrain: This should round off the sonnet's theme. Number of lines: four with the rhyme scheme: EFEF
Second quatrain: This should develop the sonnet's theme. Number of lines: four with the rhyme scheme: CDCD
Third quatrain: This should round off the sonnet's theme. Number of lines: four with the rhyme scheme: EFEF
Fourth quatrain: This should act as a conclusion to the sonnet. Number of lines: with the rhyme scheme: GG
