In the wary months precluding a climactic battle between Osrona and Achyon, identically penned missives are dispatched to seemingly every corner of Esshar from the bowels of the newly-risen Asphodel. Perhaps to the surprise of many, there's nary a speck of negotiation, request, demand or otherwise from the growing hamlet. Instead, they are presented an invitation:

You are cordially invited to The Apropryira Ravel.

In light of the mundane state of these wretched lands, we, the amiable heralds of Asphodel, are pleased to announce a tournament to rival even the greatest Grand Tournaments of yore.

Within an arena of our procurement, Esshar's finest warriors are invited to fight violently and indiscriminately in a contest for supremacy. Though one-hundred souls may enter our stadium, only a single victor will stand at its conclusion, and their reward shall be sensational. Here, you will find no allies or acquaintances; you will find neither friend nor foe. All that awaits you within our battleground are obstacles between you and the grand prize.

Combatants shall be forbidden to enter with their own weaponry to hand, and shall instead race to pluck a bountiful harvest from our cornucopia of armaments. You'll find many of these weapons will enable you to perform incredible feats — and many will help you naught.

For the winners and losers alike, we have graciously arranged a congratulatory ball at the climax of this bout.

Let your fight for survival and supremacy be a performance for the ages.

The Apropryira Ravel, a battle-royale styled free-for-all tournament, will begin outside Asphodel (854,461,1) on SUNDAY 04/18/2021, 6PM EST.

The Apropryira Ravel will assume a battle-royale format, meaning combatants will be able to roam the tournament map and seek their own challenges using the flee / pursue system, or a mutual agreement to battle. While only a single individual can win the tournament, combatants may accumulate tokens to spend on a breadth prizes at the conclusion of the tournament.

With this in mind, there will be two core prizes to be won for the Last Man Standing, the grand victory, and the combatant who accumulates the most points.

≈ Fights can be agreed by fighters while roaming the tournament arena, or may be forced via the flee / pursue system. If you challenge somebody who doesn't wish to fight you, they may utilize /flee to attempt to escape. If your pursue exceeds their flee, you may fight them.

≈ Combatants who do not initiate a fight within the first 20 minutes of the tournament will be disqualified. The only exemption to this rule is if the starting numbers are uneven.

≈ Fighters may roam in parties of 2. Fights will be 1v1, though 2v2s and 2v1s may be allowed if all involved parties agree.

≈ Fights must be aggressive setting to count. Dangerous setting is allowed if both parties consent.

≈ Accumulated tokens cannot be gifted to someone else, nor can they be pooled together as a group. When a fighter loses, only 1 of their tokens can be taken.

≈ Fighters may not use their own weapons. Weapons will be provided by the hosts at the tournament start.

≈ You CAN steal the weapon of anybody you beat throughout the course of the tournament.

At the tournament start, fighters will be given a token. When beating an opponent, you will take their token. Each token is worth 1 point. Tokens earned through a dangerous fight will be worth a further 1 point. If you lose a fight, you're knocked out of the tournament. On defeat, only 1 of your tokens can be taken by the winner, and any other collected tokens will leave the arena with you. These tokens can then be used to claim rewards at the conclusion of the tournament, as long as the fighter has gathered enough of them.

The shimmering city breaks its silence...!

After news and details of the Apropryira Ravel are not only made public but spread across the land, the vestiges of the Second Dawn's higher-ups convene and synthesize an emphatic communiqué - one that's quickly relayed to any son of Astya, be them by birthright or adopted - with little wiggle room to be argued against.

Offenders will otherwise be reprimanded, punished, or outright excommunicated depending on the measurement of responsibility borne and grade of affliction carried.

With eyes, spies, and listeners in the walls, it doesn't take long in the weeks leading up to the Apropryira Ravel for additional missives to dispatch into Osronan-controlled territories in light of the Lightbearer's stifling declaration.
