It is believed that she had crossed the realm between realms for further interaction with her mother, the Primordial Nyx. 

You came to be during a brief stint between these two, and so you were not anticipated. With neither of your parental figures around, you were likely raised within the Shadowmire, blending in easily enough. You always felt something was wrong though. You knew there was more to the outside world, and now that you are finally of age. You're ready to carve out your destiny. Will it be as a hero, a villain.. maybe something else entirely? Only time will tell.
