I want to add to this, considering I feel like I'm the one that dealt the particular beam that sparked this post. I'm rpl 202. I have a hidden and a unique. Taking that into consideration, I use invig and wild nature. That's a 30% ap boost bringing my power up to 367. On a crit, yes it absolutely does deal roughly half hp. On the other hand, I consistently land this combo and it doesn't crit as often as you think it would, even with over 40% crit. Typically it will deal around 1/4th hp unless someone blocks.

I will say again...Cosmic beam does not do that much damage naturally. Cosmic by itself is not that broken at all, aside from maybe meteor + dash combo.

I'd also like to add that even though I'm not very good and my build is A) suboptimal by a large margin because I picked stuff with good IC that doesn't help melee and B) has 100 less pow than hers on a max damage combo, I have gone to the 5th round with Meia in an extremely close final round and I lost largely because I'm bad.

There is no reason to believe this build is that broken if I can match it with that kind of performance. I am reasonably confident that if I practice more and can work past my RPB jitters I will be able to trade battles 50/50 with strong cosmic mages even with Armed/Barrier having low synergy, specifically because the combos are always the same (and thus can be predicted and punished).

I think Cosmic is strong and have complained about it being my weakest matchup, but I play Armed. Armed naturally suffers against a magic that wants to be up close to me to hurt me. Someone who can afford to kite them has a stronger advantage and a much more favorable matchup.

The issue is that the meteor stuns, so the chances of you hitting your beam increase a lot, it'd kind of like the whole meteor + whip combo but it isn't guaranteed

i do not feel as though that is significantly different from the other 2-4 versions of that combo which are fairly easily accessible

water dragon's roar does 4 damage, so couldn't you theoretically just do the whole whip stun thing into the beam as well.........

Roar of the Sea Dragon is a master.. Nova ray is a basic

Roar of the Sea Dragon 10rpp, 25 sec CD, 12 range, 4 damage.

Nova Ray is 10rpp, 25 sec CD, 12 range, 3.5 damage.

Water does not need to be nerfed here.
