Debt is a way for the poor to pretend to be wealthy for the moment.
What follows is the price.
What follows is the price.

Aedon and Thalassa Moira, a fisherman and a weaver in a small fishing village just outside of Barsburg's expansive reach, once gave birth to a little girl.
Blessed with magical power that they knew they could never nurture, blessed with the potential to outgrow her origins, they sacrificed everything to ensure she would flourish.
When the girl turned thirteen, a ship carried her from their little village to Starfall Academy, whereupon she would study on the dollar of a minor family of Achyonite nobility.
The first price had been the indentured servantry of both Aedon and Thalassa, come due immediately.
A debt of two lives; slavery by another name.
Typical of common citizenry of Barsburg, though abhorrent to the world at large.
The girl had not been privy to the terms, but they had certainly been manipulative of the kindness and compassion the parents had for their daughter.
They gave everything for her and more. Whether she likes or knows it, upon her graduation, so shall the interest come due. Known for her stubbornness...
she may yet dislike a debt she never agreed to but is nevertheless obligated to pay,
and she may well free her parents from their shackles with what power her education has nurtured.
For now, it is nothing more than a simple invitation to dinner
and a promise that should the contract lie unfulfilled,
dire consequences shall come for the Moirae.

(Moirae is the plural for Moira, ye fucks)
Character: Clotho Moira
Attendees: 1-3 (including Clotho)
Risk: Up to DM
Reward: Character development (learning about magical contracts?). Maybe whatever rich Achyonite fucks have, if it comes to that.
Tone: Manipulation, nobility, and scumbaggery, perhaps with its comeuppance amidst inevitable, Shakespearean tragedy.
DM: why ran this it was great
The terms of the contract and the current state of her parents and their general treatment are unknown IC by Clotho, and up to the DM to determine. Possibilities I've considered are obligation toward service as Barsburgian military, marriage to a scion of the family, or any number of other things that these nobles might get up to, but feel free to get really weird and uncomfortable if you want to.
The family isn't big enough to be on the radar like the pyr Docros or pyr Aertas, but they are at least well-staffed and notable enough to have sponsored an Academy tuition and facilitated the contractual sale of human beings, so roll with that as much as you like, too. Amorality is a requirement.
Also...
+90 million bonus points if the contract is heartwrenching and you make me cry IC and OOC for trying to beat it, but that's up to you.
update:
