A long time ago a drifter from Sheng messed with the wrong people, people called him the "dog" because said drifter was really loyal but stupid enough to pee in his enemies to show dominance. I know it sounds like a stupid joke but the name Hoshi didn't came from the stupid drifter, it came from a noble rich woman that people called the "Fox" after they fell in love.

The dog was a brute and a big idiot, but he always helped other people when possible. Everyone in their village liked him even the "Fox" that fell in love with him after the drifter saved his little brother from bandits, you kids are probably thinking that the "Fox" was some stupid and delicate rich lady but that's wrong.

The original Houshi family was made of rich talented cosmic mages, that woman was one of them and they probably would have found her little brother after a few days. What impressed her was how clever the "dog" could be and how the man worked with people to locate and rescue her brother,  no one of the drifter's group were mages they only had katanas and their brain to use as weapons but somehow they succed.

They dated in secret for like 3 years untill the woman's father found out,  since the drifter had a reputation as a troublemaker and vagabond  it wasn't too hard to accuse him of various crimes and get him arrested by their village's guards. The "Dog" would be captured and almost executed but saved by his lover and friends, most of his friends would die in the rescue and in the end the two lovers and a small group of their friends would escape to the sea.

Sailing without a destiny the group just kept following merchants around the world, untill they were far away from their homeland. Almost running out of money and supplies to continue their travels, the couple's group would end arriving in Esshar a few years later during the night and see a shooting star a few seconds after docking.

The "Dog" and the "Fox" would settle there with their friends, a small group of people that couldn't be bigger than 8 and spend all their lives in Esshar. Their descendants would claim the name "Hokuto Houshi" and marry natives, untill their own bloodline would be most Ozronians.

The Hokuto name that their descendants claimed mostly because the family connected easier with stars from the north would be forgotten, just like their ties with cosmic magic untill most of the family's mages were fire mages.  For centuries the family would produce no more cosmic mages, untill  fifty years ago when Karna Houshi married a cosmic mage and their children for some reason had talent to cosmic magic.

Currently in the year of 1824AC most members of the Houshi family dissapeared or died after traveling to a island in the south, except for your grandfather a grumpy blacksmith that decided to stay home and take care of his four grandchildren. He is a fire mage and artificier but not one of the best, just one of the common and cheap blacksmiths that make weapons for merchants to sell.

Ken Houshi is a simple man he works as an employee for the Wuu stores, and  gets home every day by 8 PM at the latest. He doesn't smoke, but  occasionally drinks. He is in bed by 11 PM, and always makes sure to get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, Ken usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, He wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. He was told there were no issues at his last check-up. Ken is a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. He takes care to not to trouble himself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause him to lose sleep at night. That is how your grandfather deal with society, and he knows that is what brings him happiness. Although, if he were to fight Ken believes that he wouldn't lose to anyone for some reason.

The accepted players will be one of Ken's four grandchildren, a few years your older brother left to study in a fancy academy for mages that people call Starfall Academy. He is about to graduate soon, but one year ago "Masamura" sent your family a mysterious letter telling your family that for some reason reason he had decided to abandon his previous name and last name 

You're going to be 13 or 14 next year the right age to join Starfall Academy's next generation of students, as a magi or someone with talent for magic this will be your chance to investigate the reason of your brother's strange change of behavior or even find him. From what your gramps told you Mura had been sending your family money for a long time, but it stopped as soon as your brother stopped sending letters.

Why are you posting this here?:Because I had a hard time starting in the game myself, having people to interact and help your character grown up makes things easier.
