Manaball is a sport that had its beginnings in Starfall Academy, proposed by Leonaus students Caster and Elise Soleis after the duo popularized the game among their peers. Considered a high-speed, high-tension mega-action contest of reflexes and cunning, it involves flinging and dodging ripples of concentrated mana, where teams of three face each other and each time someone is hit, they're out. Once all three members of a team have been defeated, the other team wins.
It was even made the official sport of the school with funding and resources producing the Manaball Gauntlets, a specialized pair of gloves that increase the user's magical output at the cost of defense. A single blast of a manaball will send a person up and off of their feet while the gauntlets are in play.
Since then, it is seeing occasional attention within the nations of Esshar, with competitive adult teams forming.
