My Mother's Blade

Varceal Vartuul,
you have something that belongs to me.

I expect Balmung back, if you don't want Tono'tli
sleeping with the fishes.

One day left.

Luca the Spineless,

If you were really stupid enough to think such a demand would be heard,
then I pity your nation of lemmings.

You have turned yourself from a mere obstacle on a rampaging path of a dragon
into its prey.

If you want Balmung,
then you'll have to take it.

Accompanying the letter, there's a small piece of paper.

"I'll get it anyway. I always do."

Let's play a game, then.
How many loved ones are you willing to sacrifice over my mother's blade?

It's Kuro T. Hintze's turn.
Your dear brother, fetid dragon.

Give me my fucking relic.

By the way. Be careful with your words once you reply.
Mailing a spine wasn't easy.

You would think after my last response, Docro,
that you would know how effective this method is for obtaining what you want.

No demand can be made from a Dragon,
without facing her flames directly.

If you want to make a demand of me, you earn it by battling and defeating me.
Nobody else.

Accompanying the urn, a message:

Instead of facing flames myself, here are the remnants of your burned brother.
Let's see where your attitude will take you. Or better; those around you.

40 years later..
Months after Violet Vartuul is killed by Alexei Docro and the return of her heartless body by The Family, along with the release of her daughter Iris Vartuul comes a message.

Mailing the carcasses of your family hasn't worked in the past, has it?
I will be coming to take it myself soon.

Hold onto Balmung for me for a little longer, Duniya Vartuul.

Generational Hatred

Given the lack of presence made by the Flame-Herald. It's upon returning from his pilgrimage up the mountains, that a sight, unbecoming... Would be what he found himself arriving to. With both body and letter in tow.

He responded.
In another's stead.
Instead of letter however?
It had been made by speech.
Hoping, hear-say, would be enough for word to travel across.
Quote:
Seems a few years away, can only do more harm than better... Regardless, the loss of my mothers image will be felt across the mountain. And although I stand before you all with a face of strength? I feel the weight of choices weighing down upon me...

Luckily?

The fool, Nikolai Dorco... Isn't someone worth mentioning, less. Worrying about.

Know!?

The moment he steps foot on this mountain? It'll be nothing short of him praying my blade doesn't cleave his neck clean off the shoulders. There won't be a body to return, a body to bury. He'll burn in Hel. After he's given a meeting with, Huatl.

They never change.

Generation after generation,

Docro men are born without a single courageous or honorable bone in their body.
It is time we start playing their game.

A series of letters fly out from the temple of the Fireblooded, personally penned by the aging Den-Mother of the ages past.

A Message to Osrona's Archmagi, Lando lux Metras:
Quote:
Archmagi,

We have not been acquainted prior to this letter, and for that you have my sincerest apologies.
Your predecessor and I also went unacquainted, and the one before him and I were bitter enemies for many years.
I write you this letter with an approval from the Fireblooded Council.

A request to turn over any prisoners of war captured belonging to the Docro Family to the Fireblooded, alive and unharmed.
What we do with them is none of your concern.

In return, the cowardice of your constituents will be forgiven,
and our dragons will ride with you to war once again.

I am sure you know we breed warriors without compare in any other part of Esshar here in this mountain.
We need not simply be distant neutral parties.

Your leadership resulted in the capture of my granddaughter, and indirectly, the murder of my daughter.
I hope that you agree to my request.

Sincerely,

Duniya Vartuul of Theria

As well, a posting made everywhere that would allow it, in every city neutral or friendly to the Fireblooded:
Quote:WANTED ALIVE - 50,000 COINS

NIKOLAI PYR DOCRO

TO BE DELIVERED TO THE FIREBLOODED TEMPLE

AMNESTY GRANTED TO THOSE WANTED BY THE TEMPLE UPON CLAIM

SUCH AS

VAMPIRES OF ASPHODEL

ACHYON MILITARY

HERETICAL EVANGELISTS OF AESIRHEIM

In addition, rumor spreads of an added incentive among the temple's denizens themselves.
Quote:

A word from the Den-Mother Iris Vartuul herself -

ANY FIREBLOODED THAT MANAGES TO CAPTURE A CHILD OF ALEXEI PYR DOCRO ALIVE WILL BE GRANTED DRAGONLORD STATUS ON THE SPOT.

No penalty in the eyes of the Council will be incurred if a warrior of the temple engages in unsavory or deceitful tactics to succeed in their capture.

They would not do the same for you. Do not treat them like they are dragons -

They are dogs.
