Synopsis: Following the events of 'Beyond the Red Light', the passing of Lannis, disappearance of the family's ensnaring grimoire and association to the shimmering city and Archmagi, Atticus makes his noble ascent known and compromises, returning to the Grimmore estate in an attempt to claim the seat of patriarch. His pursuit is aimed to investigate the origins of the tome of Antares as well as its present place of rest, and seeks to free the tormented souls that lay within. A complex runic seal in mind to utilize and forbid hands to ever be lain on it again.

To illustrate the truths about the cursed codex, and make an example out of Lannis' desire to force a kingship, a means to see the wayward estate returned to terms with the city.
