Instead of rooting the user and making them invulnerable and immune to crowd control, make it not root them and make them invulnerable and immune to crowd control, prevent all other spell usage during it and if hit, allow them to teleport to and retaliate with a three spell damage physical hit every one second. Give it three or four seconds of duration.

Keep it an intermediate.

Make a new public hidden for Unarmed named Adamantine Body, GCDE, makes you invulnerable for three seconds, no restrictions. Incoming crowd control has its duration halved if hitting someone in Adamantine Body.
