Crabs are decapod crustacean of the infraorder Brachyura, which typically have very short projecting "tail" usually hidden entirely under the thorax. They live in all the world's oceans, in fresh water, and on land, are generally covered with a thick exoskeleton, and have a single pair of pincers.

Many other animals with similar names- such as hermit crabs, king crabs, porcelain crabs, and horseshoe crabs, and crab lice - are not true crabs.

The Osronan spider crab has the greatest leg span of any arthropod, reaching up to 10.7 meters (35.1 ft) from claw to claw. The body may grow to a size of 101.6 cm (40 in) in carapace width, and the whole crab can weigh up to 200 kilograms,(440.5 lbs) second in mass only to the Valmassian lobster.

Apart from its outstanding size, the Osronan spider crab differs from other crabs in a number of ways. It has been reported to have an extremely aggressive disposition, and substantial level of intelligence, even being recorded to have hunted, trapped, and communicated with other wildlife, and even communication with humans.

It also tastes really good in a soup. Like, super good.
