duuuuuuuuude I just realized we all have vamp-stats from e2 wtf.

Just gonna give my opinion on this cause of my personal experience. But when someone is telling another person they should go unarmed cause of how good it is. I think there is an issue (especially that person then telling me in dms that they hope my character dies so i can make an "actual" good build)
I remember back in e1 where every tree was viable even in the various combos. Even chance had said it himself back then. Now days since SoA i have felt there was magic that was simply better. I think what happens a lot is combos of certain magic trees happen which cause certain magic to seem op then that tree gets nerfed then never recovers till someone else uses it the complains about how weak it is. Then causes qn endless cycle. I think time needs to be put into looking at what each tree is supposed to do from a mechanic and lore stand point. Balanced in a way that makes sense.

Metal -  high cc low dmg do to it restricting enemy movement.
Unarmed - give it finishers that do high dmg that can only be used after a certain combination of moves that deal medium to low dmg attacks that have a certain amount of cc.
Fire - high dmg spells that cost high in mana and long cooldowns.

Stuff like that i think would help out quite a bit for balance. I think also making it to where you cant dip into certain magics with certain other trees bought.

Oh no you bought elemental magic. Guess if you want to go meta magic you better dev for it instead of having a straight buy in.

Stuff like that i feel would help balance the game better. It could even from a lore perspective be interesting. Maybe cause rifts where people fight over meta magic being stronger than elemental icly. Or people who use spirit magic like energy, cosmic etc. Just want peace. Etc.

no one has 600 melee
yuri hit 445 melee with a rage potion when under 50%. even with a bladestyle that would be 490.
no one is hitting 13k fatals

also the garuda passive is so necessary with how much people slow stack / run / immune that it's sickening. i wish people could use other stances, but i've already talked about that at length with people.

im gonna blame shadow for this meta.

unarmed/armed are great but what really allowed mages to excel was when rpp costs were lowered, as it's easy to now go 3+ trees and find 10 great spells that are as good as fatal/cleave/powersmash/etc either in consistency, dmg, or utility. kind of hard to not have semi-decent magic rn regardless of picks
