Screams from the Hallowed Forest

People living on the outskirts of Myllenoris are kept awake at night by incessant agonized howling.

Many rumor it to be some manner of monster, cursed by the unique magics used by citizens therein. 

Scouting parties have been sent out to find it, but nothing has been confirmed. Some imaginative sorts claim to have witnessed it. It is said to take the shape of a man, withered and hollow. Whatever reports have been received, they have not yet managed to make true contact with the beast, or wound it in any way.

The increase of disappearing non-magi who wander too deep into the forests as of late suggest that whatever it is - it is hungry.

Anyone daring enough to follow the howling would do well to take note: 

The beast seems to take refuge within the forests surrounding Myllenoris  and on occasion toward the southern village of Ilburg.

Previously a threat roaming inbetween Myllenoris and Ilburg before fleeing closer to Osrona, away from it's previous hunters, the Mutant finally met it's end at the hands of an armored Kalvorian, said to be the same one who leads a group of Warriors in Ilburg.
In the wake of their clash at the Quarry, crystals would've been laid across the area, the ground and the few nearby trees scorched and turned pitch black. The battle had certainly been intense.
Nevertheless, that creature, nothing more than a shadow of it's former self, finally acquired the peace it sought so desperately. No longer would travelers and miners need to fear the night.
