This -still- isn't funny

Battlechads arguing that their enemy's current build is overpowered and their own build is underpowered?

That's Eternia for you. If HaTeD was in the opposite position he'd probably be the one complaining and/or making threads. Or, no, I'm probably getting this mixed up- if HaTeD was in that position, he'd probably rebirth and abandon Weiss just so he would have a build that's better for killing and strongarming other characters. It turns out that in a game where the focus is not solely on the combat but on the world and the story too, the combat isn't too refined and so some things will be more powerful than others.

However, when you have certain people who are always looking for a leg up on others -constantly- sparring and killing, thus -constantly- testing and poking at the combat system, it will eventually break and something will be found to be 'better' than everything else.

Then, with automated checks and the Dangerous rewards, it's easier than ever for these people to become extremely powerful in a short amount of time without even having the story to back up their strength. This allows them to develop their build even further and thus break the combat system even more while killing anyone who becomes a threat to them.

On topic, Crystal has always seemed very powerful, but no one has actually bothered using it. It also just plain didn't work in Spires (a lot of the time) and so it's unsurprising that its true strength has been found when a race that's literally built around using Crystal shows up.

I will sum up my feelings on crystal with a simple comment.

One day I will make a kiting cc homing build that incorporates it.
That is all.

Edit:

I can hear slavic enraged screaming from here, Bog

I mean the nerfs were warranted. Crystal was always strong but cost a lot of RPP. Introduce a race that gets -10 RPP on Crystal on top of having sweet racials and this was bound to happen tbh. It just took x losing to y to realize that “hey, this thing might be a little too strong”. Hell, even I was thinking of dipping into crystal for that 10 cd 7.5 damage homing with a crystal spawn chance. Shit was lookin niiiiice

The nerfs were neither too weak nor too strong given the circumstances behind them. All said and done, its necessary given how absurdly effective Teraphim are as a result of their Racial Tree and hefty discount to Crystal.

This is the first round of nerfs/adjustments to Crystal, there will inevitably be a second round or a third, I'm sure. It just so happens that the skills Teraphim receives alongside Crystal, and with the strength of melee in general at the moment, it makes for a particular nasty cocktail that is easily accessible for an entire race.

I want to say that it is far too early to go full nuclear 'Nerf this whole tree!', but we'll see how strong Crystal (And by extent, the Teraphim) are, and it'll likely be adjusted yet again.

Oh look at what fucking happened? Guess who won? Guess what the distribution of the wins were?

Pretty damn even. Chill.

I don't even want to nerf Osrona for winning. Just gang up on them.

if u ask me, shardshot should be made linear too but probably increase the speed and make the crystal spawn ratio 100%

10 second cd still

The tournament made the result pretty clear. The Teraphim are strong, Crystal is strong because of the Teraphim, and Armed is currently the most effective tree shown so far.

Crystal appears to be balanced for Non-Teraphim players, it is purely the race itself that gives it an advantage now.

But that was the point of making changes, because if it didn't work the first time, then we try it again, and if it's still not balanced, there will be a third run through.
