Devastation of Nightview

Year 2181 AC, the end of the month of ♅ Uner

Nightview's Devastation

"I told you I would, didn't I?
Just because you told me I couldn't."

In the midst of night, a party enters the confines of Nightview, consisting of Mezerliche, Zalealiche, Viraliche Avintess, and Ophelia.

Their goal? To rob their graves at the beacon of the Felfyraxes Supreme, acquiring riches of the deceased, and stealing bodies or bones that are left in the aftermath of buried loved ones.

Precious relics, such as the ashes of Arkeid H. Sun, who's urn is significantly cracked/damaged, or the little garden just north of the Tavern, were attempted to be stolen for self gain, yet were recovered by the few magi that retrieved them while the distractions of some battles ensued between many magi, including Goldlight's Knight who'd been sent crashing through the side of the Tavern!

Few non-magi and lesser magi had been killed in the aftermath, and their bodies taken- but..
For what purpose?

Scorched by Helflame
The gravestone has been utterly destroyed, melted to its last fragment by a crimson dark flame of Hel, a despair gripping the hearts of those who come close.

The flames a signature of the Drake of Nightmares, Mezerliche.

A hole in front of the grave sits empty, indicating that whatever there was stored, was taken away.

The visage of death
Non-magi and lesser magi alike are strewn about, bodies charred as coal, or cut to pieces, gore mixing with the sand beneath.

Reports of survivors indicate a towering nightmare coated in black scales was responsible for this atrocity, the despair gripping the hearts of many, its rage a flame that will burn in their memories forever.

Defaced Memorial
Nearby the memorial, dedicated to the fallen from the Invasion of 2144 AC, the dedication has been defaced with various holes dug deeply around the memorium.

Remnants of ice and occultic magics remain. For those familiar- it is the lingering esse of Viraliche Avintess.

Reports of injured NPCs state that she has opted to steal any corpses, possessions, and bones she could muster. When desperately asked why?

'Because I do what I want in this world that is mine.'

But those relics? They will not be safe in time, for sentiments meant little to one who deemed mercy and soft emotions as weakness.

Gloomlight arrives at Nightview

The forces of Gloomlight arrived at Nightview by coincidence and found Ren Kurowasa already there, surveying the destruction. The Umbra knight Kairun was leading the group, accompanied by the knight Garret Lightgloom and the squire Emeric Aubelon. They began aiding the wounded, both lesser magi and non-magi, who had survived, sheltering them in the local tavern until reinforcements could be summoned to assist the civilians. The Gloomlight forces then worked to contain the Hel flames left behind by a creature, and with Ren’s help, they were able to secure the area until additional support could arrive.

Kairun announced:
