Few know but Varcolac was not born alone, she had a sibling. But like all beasts that show weakness the second fox perished at the hands of men leaving Var alone, yet sometimes in her dreams the fox can still see her sibling looking at her from the other side of the river as the full moon's light casts a shadow.
For years the loss of her kin and those haunting dreams drove Var to seek for ways not just to evolve but to become like the ones that took her sibling from her, but just like the great beasts of the past lost to time like Ohn or Vic-Thor she was never able to suceed. The more she searched the more impossible evolution seemed, she was ready to give up and accept her fate when a miracle happened.

During a meditation in the full moon Var had a dream, she dreamed of an abandoned temple in Sheng that was also a prison. In that temple followers of a mysterious fox deity that looked like Jiuweyu  imprisioned a beast, in her dream the fox saw that the beast corrupted their minds and took control of both the followers and the temple.

Before waking up Var saw the stars and the moon llaid out before her like a map, all she would need would be a boat and her instincts. If the dream had been a vision and not just a nightmare, then surely she could find that place again if she followed the same constelation that she saw in her dream.

Her path was clear, she was going to slay the beast and collect their core in hopes of becoming like it or better. That was her chance to take the reins of her fate instead of just wait for death, with the help of her friends the fox got a boat and followed the stars to an island where the temple of her dream had been waiting.
