War against the Hydra and Five Covens
#1

...
Year 2172AC.

As frost clears for spring, homing pigeons deliver official declarations to the following nation's castles: Viritas, Pscaela, Nameless Circle.

Uralai Wrote:To the Hydra and Five Covens beneath,

We're officially at war.

From Uralai.

Shortly after an ominous winter, Aetius has engaged in all-out war with the Three-Headed Hydra and the Five Covens.
No details have been given on the Five Covens in question. It could be considered propaganda to drum up support, as Aetius looks to oppress witchcraft and necromancy.

The commander set is Archmage Gideon Lancaster, roughly six foot four, with sunkissed hair and eyes. Known for securing several battlefronts since Aetius' rough beginnings, he's well-educated and Patriarch of his once-noble house.

The demands of the war are absent.

The aims of the war are distinct:
- Remove the devil's influence over humanity.
- Force necromancy into a taboo, rare art like it once was.
- Begin a new age.

To accomplish this, Aetius will be employing several olden methods. Fire, once thought to be a weakness of witchcraft, will be a prominent tool.
- The burning down of statues, rituals and effigies of Marquis.
- The cleansing of tainted, plaguelands wrought all over Meranthe.
- Cremation used to ensure necromancers cannot raise the dead. Memorial stones to remember the sacrifice of those lost.

Already has Aetius sent out letters to neighboring towns and villages to muster a host for battle.

When asked 'why now?', rumors are Uralai spoke of "An Age of Mankind, as said by Nix Bargiel." Whether this was the truth or a lie, remains to be seen.

[[OOC: Credit to Felice's author for the Hydra name. :)]]
